This has been a great gun so far. Its my first handgun that I have personally owned. I now have run around 750 rounds through it. I have not had one single problem with this gun. Shoots very straight, and the recoil is fairly light. For the $369+tax I bought it brand new for, I can't complain.
Also, notice the nice new Hogue grip that Magnum Research sells for them now :D Comfy!

Wow!

After hearing how jammomatic the Desert Eagles tend to be, I kinda assumed the baby eagles were the same design, but smaller and with different calibers.

Guess not! Are they clones of something else?

I don't know too much about them. I do know that they go by the name Jericho over in Isreal. They are standard issue to Isreali police. I think Isreali Military Industries copied one of the CZ's???? not too sure

I love this gun, and I'm starting to trust it more and more. I have used re-loads from www.tncartridge.com, the Winchester USA brand, Federal Hydra-Shoks, and some other federal brand ammo. All of it fed flawlessly. I mostly use the reloads form tenessee cartridg at the range.

My baby eagle in 9mm is also a great gun. They are a EAA Witness/Tanfogilo/CZ design and are a very reliable pistol.

I paid $409 for mine new

Come over to czforum.com, and see the Clone Club, where we talk all things Tanfoglio, as well as other CZ clones. There is also a BAbyEaglke forum out there as well, but the frames and slide for the BE are made by Tanfoglio of Italy. Great company, been making guns since before Gaston Glock was in diapers....

Got it in Memphis, Tn at a place called http://www.rangeusa.com/
He didn't have anymore, but you can also look on www.gunbroker.com and find them reasonably cheap also.

Not to highjack but:

hearing how jammomatic the Desert Eagles tend to be

Uh....I've never seen a Desert Eagle jam. I have seen many fired, of the main calibers, and my personal one has never jammed.

Now, probably, the jams you may have heard about are caused by two things:

Limp wristing. People are scared of the big boomers, and don't grip them right.

Lead build up on the slide from using either lead or thin jacketed bullets, and or bad cleaning. Causes the slide travel to get a bit sticky as the lead builds up.

Otherwise, keep em clean and give em good bullets, and the Eagles are extremely reliable and accurate.

And, like I said, sorry to but in...but I just hate all this unfounded Desert Eagle bashing. They are excellent firearms. It's all those CounterStrike DEagle kiddies giving them a bad name!

Do remember, the Desert Eagle and Baby Eagle share nothing in common except being semi-auto pistols.....

Funny I just watched the Matrix again last night I didn't see them jam once:neener: :D

OK seriously, did the trigger on your Baby Eagle smooth out after so many rounds? The ones I have picked up and dry fired at the gun shops all seem to be a little stiff.

I've got a buddy that's a big fan of the Magnum Research pistols. The only thing they seem s to need is a steady diet of good ammo & to be cleaned and lubed regularly. The big brother DE's are FUN GUNS especially w/ hotter ammo ;) :D

I would imagine DE's could develop a reputation for jamming by the use they get as rentals at public firing ranges where God knows how often they get a proper cleaning.

The trigger feels a little better, but not much. There is a little take up in it before it fires, but I don't mind it. I'd say the trigger was 5 lbs as its rated. Its the slide that is stiff to me. It can take a bit of muscle sometimes to pull it back. I hate the safety being mounted on the sldie vs. the frame.
