Anyone have any experience with this one? Looks like a great balance with the 3" barrel and I'm considering trading in my 686+ for one. Life probably isn't complete without a blued revolver.

I have a very similar revolver, the M19 K-Comp (from the run right after the F-Comp in 1994). Since you have an M686+, I would not trade for the M586 unless you really need or want the porting or the three-inch barrel (my reason was the barrel length). I bought the K-Comp for only $50 more than the standard M19; now the price differential is much more.

As far as performance, the K-Comp is a very easy -- and loud -- to shoot revolver. The muzzle jump is vastly reduced, and the revolver is easy to get back on target. The expansion port/chamber works as advertised. Flash does not seem to be an issue, but lead and jacket spitting from the port has been an issue. I wear glasses all the time, so it is not too bad for me, but this revolver really hammers home the need for proper eye protection when shooting. The action is good and smooth, but a bit heavy. It fits in most M19 holsters that have sight rails molded into the holster.
