Reloading some 7.62x39 with some 147gr SPBT FMJ and according to all the reloading data and i found alot that 28gr of bl-c-2 is the norm below max
BUT...... the powder is near the top of the case and once i jamb the bullet in it seats and crimps at the proper col I just cant help to think is the packing of the powder going to change pressure?

It should have a "C" on the same line of info in the manual showin it`s a compressed charge , fairly common with small capacity rifle rounds & some mag rifle with the slowest of slow burnin powders .

If you`ve worked up to this charge in your firearm & no signs of pressure your OK
I will say I have no exp with 7.62x39 but I do with other smaller rifle rounds .

I would double check that your Overall cartridge length isn't too short (bullet seated too deep), and also your powder charge is correct. (Use a calibration weight on your balance or electric scale to verify), before you go any further.

no experience w/ the 7.62x39, but will tell you i prefer a load that is lightly compressed by bullet seating over one that you can shake like a baby's rattle.

you can get a load so compressed that the bullet is slightly deformed by bullet seating (i've done it w/ 223), and i think that's just too much compression.

Your fine, it's a compressed load as are many of Hodgdon loads for the 7.62x39. Just make sure your scale is accurate. I use a long drop tube when loading compressed loads. It settles the powder better and you can fit more powder in the case.

I've run into this with IMR-4064 and the .308. Even at 43 grains, its compressed, but they are accurate.:)

+1

More consistent ignition.

almost all my loads when using varget are compressed. its very common (like others have said)

it will also be denoted with the letter "c" like others have said.

(you are using a load manual, right?)

Check your scale. BLC-2 7.62 x 39 loads aren't compressed loads. Hodgdon shows no compressed loads with any powder. However, with powders that call for 'em, compressed loads are nothing to worry about.
