offered that our friends as well as our adversaries are not supportive of our apparent rush to Iraq. My question has nothing to do with whether or not we should go back to Iraq, but who are our friends? Specifically, he referred to France as our ally.

What has France done sense 1945 to warrant the title of Ally?

" What has France done sense 1945 to warrant the title of Ally?"

Well, they paved the way for us to get involved in Viet Nam, for one.

Oh! I'm sorry. I'd forgotten their generosity in the late 50's early 60's. I'm so red faced> :fire:

Make ya wanna puke, don't it.
Had forgot about that Viet Nam one. They just had to have their colony back after WW II, didn't they.

Why do the French plant trees on the Champs-Elysees?

So the Germans can march in the shade.

Which takes us back to the Franco-Prussian War, which France LOST, and WWI, which they LOST until Britain and the US pulled them out, then they imposed the Treaty of Versailles on Germany, which allowed Hitler to legitimately claim Germany was being repressed, and made their depression even worse, thus setting up much of what happened in WWII.

Then they took the remains of the SS into the Foreign Legion, only to pee them away in Vietnam against Giap. (Best infantry in the world, the Waffen SS. And the French couldn't manage them.)

Then they complained about the west for the next 50 years, joining NATO after the USSR collapsed, denying us airspace en route to bomb Gadhaffy, and refusing to turn over terrorist suspects unless we promised not to have a death penalty for them...and demanding we raise our taxes so their engineers and scientists would stop fleeing France for the US.

Why are MAS 49/56 rifles so cheap?
Never fired, dropped once.

Ah, yes, our allies the French. Forget 1945. Last time they did anything for us was 1777-1783. Then they aided the Confederacy in the Civil War...I suppose that's good or bad, depending on your feelings. (Actually, economically I would call it good either way.)

Jennings. a Canadian who has never bothered to seek US citizenship despite earning tens of million of US dollars in his decades-long tenure as a mouthpiece of ABC's virulent hatred of all things American, despises original thought.

His viewpoint of the Middle East hasn't changed one whit since he made a habit of screwing Hannan Ashrawi, the chief apologist of the "Palestinian" people.

Jennings will continue to draw his substantial salary [in US dollars, not the deflated Canadian version] until we demand his removal because of his outright, anti-USA bigotry.

Let's urge the high-school graduate to go home and finish his college degree; in fact, anything to get him out of his bully-pulpit on the evening "news".

everyone else watches the nightly news. When Jennings comes on they all say "OK Dad, time to go down to the basement now" because they know I'll be screaming at the TV before Mr. Quisling gets his first sentence finished. At least they know there are sane people who think Jenning a fool and a liar.

I made the mistake of putting on ABC this morning.

There he was Peter Jennings interviewing Tariq Aziz, who of course said thath the US has no chance of defeating IRaq, and that themain problem was that we dont understand their culture.

Nauseating to say the least. They gave president Bush 10 seconds first and then Aziz got the next 5 minutes on the 7:00 AM News.

I almost expected Jennings to suggest that Aziz should run against Bush in the next election, on the Democratic ticket of course.

:fire:

Maybe they should arrest jennings under the USA patriot act and deport him back to canada.:fire:

I was watching him last night from Bagdhad and thinking how unfortunate a choice that is for a location.

If I am the POTUS, I'm sure not going to compromise operational security by telling ABC when the attack will begin in case they want to evac their star reporter.

What was that loud noise?:uhoh:

Well, they hung a few medals around a Lemmond's and Armstrong's neck while complaining about blood-doping all the time.

Oh yeah, and their berets became a fashion statement in the '60's.

Other than that, NOTHING!

Well, at least he's Kanadian, so I don't begrudge him his right to take a cheap shot at the country that PAYS HIS SALARY. Eskimos and huskies wouldn't put up with that and they don't pay except in that multi-colored Monopoly money either.

Dan Blather offends me far more, especially that homespun, chicken-fried, just-folks commie facade he throws up during interviews. Makes me throw up, particularly after reading Bernard Goldberg's book on him and his cronies.
