I'm in search of a new handgun. The problem is it seems like there is a big markup on guns in Texas. I moved from South Carolina. Anyway I want a gun with at least 10 round capacity, without a magazine safety, and preferably DA/SA but can do DAO. What do you suggest my max payment is 450.00. Every glock and XD in my area seem to run 520 and up. I have an SR9 and would like a compact but I don't like the magazine safety. I just want a no frills SD weapon. I like the looks of the springfield micro GI and the smith and wesson sigma seems to be a flock clone for half the price what does everyone think. Any suggestions. Sorry the title was supposed to say searching, hard to see on this small screen I'm typing on my iPhone.

You just described the FNP 9/40 (http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/firearms/family.asp?fid=FNF002&gid=FNG001).
That's a great option if you want new. If you want used, there are tons of great options
that you'll have to "rch" through.

Ruger P series. There not the most beautiful guns, but they're very reliable. They are also reasonably priced and come in either 9mm, 40 S&W or 45ACP. I hope this helps, good luck!! :)

Buds Gunshop .com has XDs for $399. You can buy online and have it delivered through your local shop. After 3 or 4 deliveries they may start to be competetive with their prices. http://budsgunshop.com I am lucky enough to live about 3 miles from their retail store in the Commonwealth.

I just purchased a glock 23. I got a good discount using my security ID and traded a Taurus pt145. I can't wait to get to the range Friday.

The question I now have is is it really necessary to fill out the registration card. Who's and what database will this be in and for how long. Is this required for warranty purposes and is this a good thing?

Dont get me wrong I am very happy with my purchase but a little dissapointed when I found flocks warranty is a limited one year when many less expensive brands offer lifetime
warranties. If they are so wonderful why is this so?
