Are Saiga 308s legal to buy in CA?

Thinking about getting a 308 self loader. The Nutered CA Fal is not my cup of tea. M1s are too much dinero. Is the saiga 308 with 8 round detachable mag and thumbhole stock legal to buy in California?
Please don't refer me to the CA DOJ site. I just want to find a quick answer.

No, it is not legal. It fells under "AK-serie" rifle, which is a pity since Saiga is a well made inexpensive rifle.

That is just a crying shame. Maybe after San Francisco and Los Angeles fall into the ocean California might start making sensible laws. We can always hope and pray.

I think Saiga is actually banned by name as well as AK-series.
