Killed a Grizzley with a .45!

Some may not have seen this, but a backpacker in Denali Park in AK killed a grizzley with a .45 semiautomatic pistol.

I bet he had to change his britches (no, not the bear's britches), but the .45 got the job done. I wonder how lighter calibers would have fared in this situation? Just sayin'...

Read about 3 guys fishing, one had a shotgun on his back, the other two had 9x19 high caps. The guy with the shotgun never got the gun off his back. His buddies killed the griz just feet from him. So, does that make the 9mm the best possible bear gun?
