SAW good 6 point yesterday ... but outa reasonable range.:( Trouble round here is .. because of most terrain and trees etc ... most shots are 75 - 100 .. I'd take a 200 shot no probs but my ''patch'' yesterday was a tree enclosed huge field .. and way down other end was this buck .. easy to see thru bino's but ... estimated 350 yds .. not (for me) worth a crap shot.

Distance was 40 paces. He was at a dead run when I saw him, something had frightened him, I guess. I led him a bit and got him through the vitals. Amazingly, he somersaulted like that stag Daniel Day Lewis shoots at the beginning of The Last of the Mohicans. Dad took some non-digital photos of me standing by it after I finished the cuttin' and guttin'. Will scan and post one if I get a copy in timely fashion.

Got an 8 pt. on day two (12/2) with one shot from 870. He was silent, I just happened to look behind the large tree I was standing and there he was 30 yards away.

Saw others, but out of range for our permitted weapons. If only we could use rifles.
