VERY nice shooting gun... got 1,000s of rounds through it, without a hiccup... couldn't care less whether you like ivory grips... I do. :D

If I recall correctly... the 'smith that built this one did the checkering on the front strap, as well as the fine checkering on the back face of the slide too.

I bought this one in '90 (or there 'bouts). A co-worker brought it in to show for the ol' timer that built it (wish I could remember his name). I've never been disappointed by it. Took it with me to the S&W Academy in '91 and used it for my instructor's update and recertificaiton course. It's run flawlessly for me from day one.

"For the joy of shooting", this one beats my Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II hands down... but, for daily carry... I always grab the Kimber. Got a Series 80 Officer's in stainless too... but, it takes 3rd place between the three.

Nice pair there BlayGlock... if I was carrying this one more... I'd opt for an upgrade to some less "grabby" rear sights... but this thing just shoots so nice with the Wilson Combats that are on there now.

LOL I need to take me some "more gooder" shots of this thing now that I have a better digital camera. :D

Thats ratdog. The Les Baer pic was taken after a hard use range session in the back 40, so it is dirty. Ive got a few more, just dont have pics of them. Got a NIghthawk Custom and a Springfield Custom Shop on the way.

Ever since I first laid eyes on that Bell Custom of BG's, I've thought it was about as perfect a 1911 as you can get.

That flat trigger on the EMP looks really, really .... touchy? I want to try one so bad, just to see if I shouldn't get myself a flat trigger for my New Agent.

not touchy at all. still has the factory trigger weight.

flat triggers were originally made to accommodate folks with "fat" fingers (more comfy), & people that want the same length of pull no matter the finger placement.

i might put one in, just to have a variety :)

Sometimes I regret selling my gorgeous, 1st generation Colt Combat Elite that I tricked out for a match gun. Then again . . . I shot that sucker loose after who knows how many thousands of rounds!

I traded it for this (then) new, early run of the original Kimber Ultra CDP with the extreme "meltdown package" they don't do anymore . . . plus some great features like the checkered front strap, night sights, ambi-safety (I'm lefthanded), etc. I wanted a great little CCW .45 and this early Kimber fits the bill. Utterly reliable with full-power ammo and a good shooter too.

Then . . . I got this "interesting" early Para Ordinance LDA, the 14.45 Limited with the Bomar-type rear target sight, ambi-safety, etc. I love shooting double action revolver matches and thought the "Light Double Action" Para might be a neat thing. It is a reliable, good shooting gun too.

Picked up some grips for mine at a gun show today, so here she is solo. One day I will get an exotic wood or animal skin and a guy had some really sweet snake skin ones, but I was trying to be thrifty today.

rd2007- What kind of finish does your Para have? It looks nice.

just the regular para coat. It is fairly new (under 200 rounds) and I just cleaned it and wiped it with a cloth and a little oil, so that helped.

I just love those classic, slanted serrations. And your Baer looks great with both front and rear serrations. Nice gun!

Indeed smoothdraw. I carry my Citadel 3.5" or my p238 knowing that they will receive aesthetic wear. I lock up my Dan Wesson hoping to pass it on someday.

Yup, it is lower than what's on my Kimber. It's been 20yrs since I got the Colt... but, I think it's a Wilson Combat piece of that era. If I remember correctly... when I bought it, it came with an ambi safety... and I think I changed it over to the one on there now.

She was my first gun and once I saw her that was it! I had tunnel vision and you couldn't have sold me on anything else! Since then I have bought other handguns, I have a shotgun, and just recently I bought my first rifle but nothing compares to how I feel when I shoot the Kimber!

Since day 1 I have had ZERO problems with the Kimber!

Bought it at a gun show ten years ago for $900......don't think the dealer knew what he had. Listed for almost $1300 in 1993 when they first came out. A guy told me he saw one go for $2500 a couple years ago.

Over 7,000 round with out any FTF or FTE retrofitted with an S&A magwell, EGW oversize FPS 14# recoil spring and 23# main spring,american series grip, and wilson extended slide stop, countersunk slide stop.
