Rawb77 June 2, 2010, 02:05 PM *fap fap fap* err... loadedround June 2, 2010, 02:09 PM Nice gun, ugly grips! Ratdog68 June 2, 2010, 02:47 PM VERY nice shooting gun... got 1,000s of rounds through it, without a hiccup... couldn't care less whether you like ivory grips... I do. :D motorcopm4 June 2, 2010, 02:52 PM Ive got to get me one of those Colts only 1911 I dont have, hard to find with the front strap checkered BlayGlock June 2, 2010, 03:10 PM Ill also put up a pic of my Nighthawk when it gets here: http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv239/BlayGlock/BaerTRS002.jpg http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv239/BlayGlock/Texas9-2.jpg Ratdog68 June 2, 2010, 03:16 PM If I recall correctly... the 'smith that built this one did the checkering on the front strap, as well as the fine checkering on the back face of the slide too. I bought this one in '90 (or there 'bouts). A co-worker brought it in to show for the ol' timer that built it (wish I could remember his name). I've never been disappointed by it. Took it with me to the S&W Academy in '91 and used it for my instructor's update and recertificaiton course. It's run flawlessly for me from day one. "For the joy of shooting", this one beats my Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II hands down... but, for daily carry... I always grab the Kimber. Got a Series 80 Officer's in stainless too... but, it takes 3rd place between the three. Ratdog68 June 2, 2010, 03:19 PM Nice pair there BlayGlock... if I was carrying this one more... I'd opt for an upgrade to some less "grabby" rear sights... but this thing just shoots so nice with the Wilson Combats that are on there now. LOL I need to take me some "more gooder" shots of this thing now that I have a better digital camera. :D duns June 2, 2010, 05:57 PM Don't like the grips, sorry. BlayGlock June 2, 2010, 06:53 PM Thats ratdog. The Les Baer pic was taken after a hard use range session in the back 40, so it is dirty. Ive got a few more, just dont have pics of them. Got a NIghthawk Custom and a Springfield Custom Shop on the way. Ala Dan June 2, 2010, 07:04 PM Absolutely beautiful~! ;) I have the exact same Baer TRS myself- :) Robert101 June 2, 2010, 07:38 PM Nope, the grips just don't compliment the gun. frankiestoys June 2, 2010, 09:28 PM Someone say pics ? http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad261/frankiestoys68/HPIM4778.jpg motorcopm4 June 2, 2010, 09:38 PM If I recall correctly... the 'smith that built this one did the checkering on the front strap, as well as the fine checkering on the back face of the slide too. Also my Ballester Molinas and my S&W... Nushif June 3, 2010, 01:40 AM ... Man, the all black 1911 is evil looking ... And then I see the grips and it's still evil looking ... just in that "South Texas Hungover Barroom Brawler With a Navy Tat" kind of way. BHP FAN June 3, 2010, 02:17 AM If you're talking about the 2nd from the left on post #16,thank you very much.as an old ex-Navy guy with faded tattoos,I think you nailed it. ccsniper June 3, 2010, 02:21 AM is that a ballister molina? I had a chance to buy two of those for 250 2 years ago, just didn't commit. Edit: Just noticed second post. BHP FAN June 3, 2010, 02:37 AM Yes sir, the two in the middle are both Ballister Molinas. JAguirre June 3, 2010, 03:39 AM BlayGlock, I love the state seal wood grips, mind sharing where you got them? BlayGlock June 3, 2010, 10:17 AM The gunsmith who built that 1911 had them special made. If you like I can give you his contact info. Send me a PM if you want. I want to try one so bad, just to see if I shouldn't get myself a flat trigger for my New Agent. Quack June 4, 2010, 12:15 PM not touchy at all. still has the factory trigger weight. Nushif June 4, 2010, 12:18 PM Does it feel any different? I imagine because it's flat, it has to, right? Quack June 4, 2010, 12:21 PM to me it feels better in my hands than the curved trigger does. jon86 June 4, 2010, 04:20 PM *fap fap fap* err... Come at me bro :neener: Full Metal Jacket June 4, 2010, 04:48 PM Does it feel any different? I imagine because it's flat, it has to, right? flat triggers were originally made to accommodate folks with "fat" fingers (more comfy), & people that want the same length of pull no matter the finger placement. i might put one in, just to have a variety :) rd2007 June 4, 2010, 09:34 PM surrounded by a diverse group of friends. Then again . . . I shot that sucker loose after who knows how many thousands of rounds! I traded it for this (then) new, early run of the original Kimber Ultra CDP with the extreme "meltdown package" they don't do anymore . . . plus some great features like the checkered front strap, night sights, ambi-safety (I'm lefthanded), etc. I wanted a great little CCW .45 and this early Kimber fits the bill. Utterly reliable with full-power ammo and a good shooter too. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/363/363373/folders/282194/2256357CCW.jpg Then . . . I got this "interesting" early Para Ordinance LDA, the 14.45 Limited with the Bomar-type rear target sight, ambi-safety, etc. I love shooting double action revolver matches and thought the "Light Double Action" Para might be a neat thing. It is a reliable, good shooting gun too. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/363/363373/folders/282194/2438813IMG1173w1.jpg Yep, I thought I'd through some variety into the mix of eye candy. 71Commander June 5, 2010, 09:28 AM 71 Combat Commander http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/Colt-c-c.jpg CBOB http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/2f61531a.jpg STI in 40 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/sti-40-cr-speed.jpg STI in 45 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/sti-edge.jpg Colt 1918 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/1918-4.jpg] STI Trojan http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/sti-a.jpg Para LDA C6-45 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/9c1ebdf5.jpg SA 3.5 Hi-cap http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/sa-2.jpg Kimber http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/kimber-1-1.jpg STI Rangemaster http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/sti-2.jpg Colt Combat Elite http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/colt.jpg Kimber Team Match http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/Kimber-match-l.jpg SA Champion http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/champion-L.jpg Colt 380 Gov't :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tucker13/Colt-380-moose.jpg smartshooter.45 June 5, 2010, 10:35 AM I dont have enough yet :uhoh: CBOB with Esmeralda's Ivorywood http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/Pistols/DSC00080.jpg http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/Pistols/DSC00075.jpg http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/Pistols/DSC00076.jpg P238 with Custom Shop Wood http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/Pistols/154d4e2a.jpg Citadel Officers with Hogue Rubber http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/Pistols/DSC00070.jpg Colt Series 80 Government 100% Stock http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/1911/3b1039af.jpg http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/1911/2fef6ef5.jpg Size Comparison http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr294/gcobbs420/1911/c80ed112.jpg Edit: Welcome to the forum Beary.
