Probably a .40 cal SP01.

So I can swap my 9mm or the .40 cal upper onto the decocker lower, shoot both calibers for various gun games, and take the safety lower from my current SP01 and convert it to SA Open Gun type, for the Kadet kit, or either upper.

Should complement my P01 carry gun, SP01 game gun, and Kadet plinker real well.

I would have SA+safety in 9mm and 40 and .22lr, Decocker in 9mm and 40 and .22lr, and a carry gun in 9mm.

Have a FN SLP on its way too, so technically thats the next gun.

Glock 20. Can't beat the firepower of the 10mm.

I really want an XDm 10mm though. If they ever come out with one I'll trade the Glock in a heartbeat.

Well an XD45C has been on my short list for too long!
Prefer the 45C for/'cuz:
1. Round count
2. The shorter grip length of the XD45C fits me better then the XD45 (I HATE having extra grip hanging below).
3. Like the option of short/long magazine with the compact XD.
4. Good luck with the XD line so far (got an XDSC40 and 9).
5. If I can find the "stripped" version as others report (no extras) in the 45C I might make the move sooner-I hate paying for all the extra junk I don't use.

As someone else stated, if they were to make one in 10mm I'd be tempted.
When they passed the law allowing carry in National Parks, started my research on "bear guns"-it appears the Glock 10mm would be the best semi-auto for bears without getting into something exotic/revolvers/weighing a ton. Since I don't have a Glock wrist, never been much of a fan-sure wish XD made an equivalent 10mm.

Tacbandit, please post a review when you get that! Pics would be a bonus, but just a range report would be awesome.

I've got a Kel-Tec sub2000 on order, myself, if that takes too long I have a feeling I'll pick up something from commercial row at the Camp Perry matches this time around.
Perhaps a lightweight officer's size 1911, I love the all-steel one but sometimes it gets left behind based on weight (the Walther PPS is just so easy to carry all day).

Buck, that's my problem too. I'm "in the market" for a Ruger Bisley .45lc, but the problem is I keep running into other things that interest me. The next one I buy will likely be like many of the rest - the right one in the right place at the right time (at the right price).

I just received my ccp in the mail today. I have had a Kel Tec PF 9 on order for months now. While at my lgs, checking for any sign of a PF 9 in the near future....I fondled a Ruger SP 101 .357 mag 2 1/4 bbl. hmmmmmmm.

I already reload .357
I own several other Ruger handguns (all rugged and well tested)
It's small enough for a ccw
It's NIB @ $429

I'm thinking of cancelling the PF 9 and bringing home the SP 101

I'm always on the lookout for one of my beloved Remington 722s or 721s. I want all 12 chamberings.

I have the .300 H&H, .30-06, .270, .222, and .300 Savage.

That only leaves the .280 Remington, .264 Win Mag, .244 Remington, .243 Winchester, .222 Magnum, .257 Roberts, and the elusive .308 Winchester.

I'll find them all eventually :)

There are three that I want really bad. When I get the funds, I'll buy the first of the three that I find a good deal on. They are

1. An entry level 1911
2. A Redhawk or Super Redhawk in .44 mag that I can scope
3. A snub nosed .357 for CC

It'll likely be the first of the year before I'm in the market, so these are subject to change. lol

Thanks for starting this thread: I've been trying to think of something I want to buy for about a month and haven't been able to think of anything !

Based on what I've read, I'm going to check out a S&W MP caliber TBD, Kel Tec Rifle, model TBD, a S&W Model 29 sure would be nice too!

If I can find a SCAR or real Steyr Aug for realistic $, I may go that route, which means I won't be going that route.

I'll keep reading the thread and stealing the ideas :)

Springfield Mil-Spec. Want a stock 1911, like my father carried in Vietnam. After that comes Springfield M1A - the rifle he carried (or at least as clos as I can get to it.) When he was there the Army was still using the early model M-16s, he said they were bad news. He managed to hang on to his M-14 for the whole tour.

Balanced? Are you going to be walking a tightrope with it? I see this all the time and I just don't know what people are talking about.

I chose the 20" 9-shot model #50771 and have no regrets. My opinion is that 3 extra rounds is completely outweighs any advantage of having a 2" shorter barrel. It's a combat shotgun, not a tempurpedic.

No, no tightropes, but I do enjoy a gun that handles well (to me). I've handled both the 18 and the 20 (have you?) and the 20 felt long and cumbersome, almost front heavy. The 18 shoulders better and swings a little faster (again, to me).

Don't understand balance? Shoulder any long gun. Does it feel like someone is pulling down on the barrel slightly? Does the gun want to fall forward or backward if you remove your shooting hand and support it only with your off hand and your shoulder? Then it's not balanced. The majority of the weight of the rifle should feel like it is centered around the middle of the gun. For me this point is usually just forward of the action.

All of the above is strictly my opinion, take it for what you paid for it.

This always brings a high number of replies no matter how many times it is asked - because it's fun!

I just bought a Ruger SR9c. Not sure why except I saw ads and a great review and my gun store had it in stock! So, it might be awhile before I buy another. But, right now a FN .45 is at the top of the list.

June 5, 2010, 03:09 PM
Yeah, I understand what it means, but I wasn't clear enough with my words. I have heard people saying the 20" is front heavy and I just don't notice it. I have played with and shot both models and the extra weight from a full tube doesn't even come to mind when I'm handling or shooting it.

Sigh... the next gun... well, if my finances allow later this year, it's going to be a Sako TRG in .308 with a nice scope - tired of the coyotes running away when I whack them with the .223, so the TRG looks like just the thing for punching their tickets properly.

If finances don't allow, well, the next gun will just be upgrades to my 700 LTR, specifically a new bolt and a better trigger. The LTR is a great rifle, but the trigger pull on a factory Remington is outrageous... I'm starting to think about hiring a couple of sherpas just to help me pull that trigger when I need to shoot.

It was more the extra length that bothered me than anything. I know, I know, it's only 2 inches, but to me it seems like another foot or so. The 18" is light, nimble, and compact; and it's just what pushes my buttons. I doubt I'd pass by a 20" at a good price though.

To each his own right? Guess that's why there's so many different lengths and models.

Next gun I'm after is a stainless New Vaquero in .45 Colt with 4 5/8" barrel. I'm getting big into cowboy action shooting, and have come to really like .45 Colt in general. I already have a stainless one with 7 1/2 inch barrel, and want a 4 5/8 incher to match it.

This'll be my third New Vaq. I love ther darn things. I'm currently working on selling my blued .357 New Vaq with 4 5/8 inch barrel so I can afford the trade. Just wanting another one in .45 Colt, I guess.
