Has anyone mounted a Surefire to a USP Compact? Waste of time?

My brother has one on a full size USP 9mm. There is an adapter that mounts to the front of the trigger guard. The SureFire then slips onto this adapter. It works, but to me it's a bit of a kludgy design. I'd like to see the GG&G adapter in person when it's available.

Sometimes I feel like mounting a light on my USPc for fun, just so I can have the "uber-tactical black ninja ensemble". I don't think the whole contraption will squeeze into my belly band, though. :p

Because of the length of the accessory rail on the USPc, even the UTL hangs off the end by a smidge...Sure it works, but it does raise the geek factor. A nice flush mounted light would be cool  Would be nice if someone made one. :scrutiny:

so we are addressing form over function?

Fatboyclone, no, but I would like to stick to my guns (a compact) instead of having to buy a fullsize just to mount a taclight.

No point cuz I may ditch the 45C and go either 9C or P2000.

ok maybe i'm not understanding what you are trying to do with your pistol. but, why would you sell your pistol to have a light mounted when the UTL fits and works? selling your USP45c and replacing it with the USP9c you will be in the same predicament, and according to HKPRO the P2000 is approx the same size as a USP45c. you can see from the pics below that there isn't much overhang on the USPc, and if someone is on the business end of your USP they wont know that it isn't flush fitting.

A possible "flush fit" option would be this (once all parts are available)

The GG&G mount for the USP Compact that allows the "standard" attachment point, for the M3 and such.

Springfield Armory's new "mini" tac light. It's so short, it even fits the XD Compact, so it should fit the USPc easily...

Personally, I'm happy with my UTL on my full sized USP, but if I had a compact, I'd be just as happy with a UTL on it too. Especially the .45, since it's a tad longer.

Yep, did it on my wife's 45C that also functions as our bedroom gun.
