Although they are not very popular in today's super variable world, I am going to put a fixed power scope on my next 30-06. It will be a 6x. Few quality fixed powers seem to exist anymore. I know Leupold makes them, and they are a quality scope. Does anyone have a recommendation on Meopta or Docter fixed power scopes?

Most of my rifles now have fixed power scopes. The Leupold FXIII 6X42 is a really good scope and it is on three of my rifles. You can get custom reticles for that scope from Leupold. I also have a Zeiss Diatal 6X42 scope on one of my guns and it is a superior scope: i'm told it is no longer made.

Last year i hunted wild hogs in OK three guys from Germany. Imagine my surprise when all three of them showed up with Leupold 6X42 scopes on their rifles.

Here is a rundown on European made fixed power rifle scopes:

I have a Nikon Monarch 6X42 on my M1A, it's done well for me.
