Please no complaints about the show.

What shooting would you like to see on the show?

I'd like to see both short & long range moble targets.

Also Denny is competitor in the Cowboy Mounted Shooting, I'd very much like to see something along that line.

I would like to see some defensive type shooting. I have a feeling that this show will stay away from it though. Probably out of fear of not being pc enough.

Long range pistol shooting, close quarter rifles. Also some shotgunning. Maybe even mount shotguns to flatbed trucks and shoot clay targets like they trained bomber gunners in WW2.

Shooters that can equal or better the feats of Herb Parsons, Ed McGivern, Jerry Micluk, Bill Ogelsby, Tom Knapp, Bob Munden, Byron Ferguson, Elmer Kieth, Al Topperwine, Anne Oakley, and others.....only then would they earn the title "Top Shot".

Less whining on the little monologues. Fewer comments on their competitors. But then...it wouldn't be goot 'reality' TV.

No John Parker, the OP asked for no complaints. So...

You should have phrased your reply is a positive manner such as something like...

More time should be spent on explaining some of the history, technical differences, applications, etc. of each of the platforms being used and more time should be spent on showing the shooters actually involved in shooting those guns, maybe actually showing longer competitions or more types of competitions.

It sort of says the same thing without phrasing it in the form of a complaint. ;)

Exploding watermelons, bursting balloons, men shooting at targets while swinging on vines and yodeling like Tarzan . Maybe classic Cowboy walk and draw. “Draw yer dirty varmit”

That’s what I expect to see.

Cannons!

I'm sure the history channel could find some 12 pounders and set up a regiment of targets on a hillside.

Quick draw contest, using fake guns of course.

CQB room clearing with rifles and pistols

hostage type shoot/no-shoot situations.

Squad automatic weapon (WWII BAR v Bren) engaging multiple targets on the move and in static defense of a fixed position.

Me!
:)

While I might not win I think it would be a blast to participate in the competition.

-Historical Content...it is on the History Channel after all.
-Paintball, team vs team....sort em out quick.
-THR members (at least people who are more proficient in a wide array of weapons than the contestants' specialization in one field)
-Trebuchets
-Gecko45
-Proper pronunciation of weapon names.
-Correct facts about the weapons (ex. "the 1903 has been in military service longer than the 1891 Mosin" /paraphrased...)
-Mention of UFOs, and other totally nonfactual stuff, like in all the other History Channel shows. ;)
-Better editing: showing an advert for the next weeks episode with the kid totally killed the final showdown.
-Explaining actions: to potentially give some tips to the viewers, thus making it educational.
-Equal/identical competition: everyone shooting the same weapon at the same target, not the hodgepodge that makes direct comparison impossible.
-Historical Content. I can't repeat this enough...it is on the History Channel after all.

Basically, it would be great if the "experts" gave a 2 minute dialogue on the weapons, rather than the producer's voice-overs with incorrect facts.

Overall, when I read the cast-call thing a while back, the impression i got of how well-rounded and skilled the contestants should be psyched me out of applying...watching the show makes me wish i'd applied. However, the golden lining in this is that much like the UFC show on SpikeTV (the first season had a bunch of guys who sucked...which gave viewers the impression that they can do it too; and thereby cultivated much stronger casts for subsequent seasons) a second season of this show might have some people who are actually well-rounded and would limit the THR scoffing in the other thread.

ADD: /Sorry OP, this does verge on complaint; but it is constructive criticism that would improve the show for me more than seeing one type of weapon.

I assume you mean Jerry Miculek and Ad Topperwein
