I have been testing some .22 Mag ammo in my 6" Colt OMM (http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=115176&d=1265761323) revolver (Converted .22 LR) to see which ones it likes. Fortunately for me it shoots the cheap stuff about as well as the premium stuff. The only thing it shot really poorly was some very old CCI ammo.

After a couple of recent .22 Mag threads involving NAA Mini revolvers, I decided to see what kind of velocities I would get in my 1978 vintage NAA .22 Mag.

96 Degrees in the shade mid morning today. Chrono at 5 yards.

Federal 30 Gr JHP - New

Hi-1326...Lo-1020...Avg-1102...ES-306...SD-126

Hornady 30 Gr JHP - TNT - New

Hi-1238...Lo-1026...Avg-1127...ES-212...SD-100

Winchester 40 Gr JHP - Super X Grey box - New

Hi-1116...Lo-862...Avg-954...ES-254...SD-112

Armscor 40 Gr JHP - New

Hi-1031...Lo-872...Avg-978...ES-159...SD-71

Fiocchi 40 Gr JSP - New

Hi-986...Lo-974...Avg-939...ES-112...SD-48

Fiocchi 40 Gr JHP - New

Hi-989...Lo-884...Avg-929...ES-105...SD-43

CCI 40 Gr JHP - old stock - Old carry stuff

Hi-1002...Lo-876...Avg-961...ES-126...SD-50

Most of the cases were a bit sticky getting out of the cylinder, except for the Hornady 30 Gr TNT load. Only the Armscor was occasionally sticky when fired in the Colt.

All of it shot about the same. About 6" groups at 7 yards without glasses. I had a few fliers/bad shots, but in the end most shots were in a 6" circle. The NAA is not a target gun. It is an up close get them off of you/BUG gun, and it will work just fine for that.

Some ballistic tests might be interesting, but for now the Hornady 30 Gr V-Max rounds are loaded in my NAA Mini.
