I went to the gun show yesterday at the George R Brown Conv. Center. Its was pretty typical, everyone trying to sell crappy glocks, poor selection of old guns, pretty much everyone trying to sell second hand stuff, knock offs, and chinese replicas for the real thing. One booth caught my attention more than anything, but I cant remember what his company was called. All I know is it had something to do with zombies, they had a modified Saiga 12 with this insane flash hider that hide spikes, and sharp edges galore, and a chrome AK47 bull pup config with some crazy accessories. Anyone know what I am talking about? This is the first gun show I noticed him at, and I cant remember the name for the life of me. I wanted to check out his website, but I can not find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got ten P-Mags for $120 and a 6X PSOP AK scope for $140 and a black Taurus PT-1911 in 38 Super for $499. So I thought it was a pretty good show.

I think the guy you are talking about was ZombieKillers.com or some such, I picked up his card for the 20 round Saiga 12 drums, but can't seem to find it now. He was at the previous Reliant show. I need to go over to Saiga 12 forum and see what the reports are on these drums before I consider actually buying one. I'm not much of a shotgunner, but if it gets the anti's panties in a knot, I'm interested :)

Fairly typical for the GRB shows. I don't get what you are talking about with "crappy Glocks" Several dealers had Gen 4 17 & 22 for $499 and the more mundane ones for ~$450 -- $50-75 cheaper than at Academy. But no doubt about it Glocks and 1911s are the dominant pistols for sale.

Ammo was plentiful with some decent prices, but the walk back to the car at GRB is painful so I don't get ammo there unless its a smoking deal or I'm desperate. Saw some Starfire Eldorado .380ACP JHP for $18/20, not cheap, but at least prices are starting to move in the right direction.

As to the knock-offs, at least you get to handle them and its easy to see most are really bad, the EOTech knock-offs are particularly bad and not really cheap at $140-$200. Nobody who as ever looked through a real EOtech would consider these. But the $80 Sightmark Aimpoint knock-off is actually a pretty decent red dot sight, at least on low recoil guns like 5.56 -- I've got two, and while not as nice as the $150 Votex Strikefire, they are smaller and cheaper and co-witness nicely on a flat top or a handguard top rail. The Sightmark reflex type sights are crap or at least the ones I looked through were.

I enjoyed getting to look through the new Nikon M223 1-4X scope, very nice and smaller than I expected. I didn't particularly like the reticle in this one, but I think they have another option available. I will probably get one of these down the road -- I love my Millet DMS, except for its size which is larger than I'd like.

I liked the gun show, I always do. But I was suprised buy the amount of Glocks everyone was trying to sell. They are flooding the market. And are not really that good. I am satisfied to see videos on youtube showing how crappy they are, some are good. Ill admit the 17 is the workhorse. I just think they are over rated. Its the AK of pistols. I found out the the company, if you want to call it that. Its Zombie Killers Inc, they have no real site. Just some stupid facebook page. The drums work great from the videos I have seen. They are not his, look up Allied Armament. He had some cool looking stuff, great concepts too for zombies. I am looking forward to seeing them again and they are up to anything new.

Eh, nothing new about the show, really. And, what do you mean "crappy" Glocks, and trying to flood the market? There are reasons why these "crappy" Glocks are hugely popular, and I'm pretty sure it's not because people watching YouTube deciding that they are crappy.

I agree with you about the Chicom knockoffs.:barf:

TAC-47 Industries. (www.tac47industries.com). Keith is the owner. His work seems to be very high quality. Pretty nice guy, too. He does custom work on your gun, or you can buy the whole package from him.
I think this Saiga-12 is what you are talking about, which I got from him at the show.

I think Glocks are crappy because they are cheap, feel fake, bad grip checkering and angle, yes I know some are made to work no matter what. But they are not indestructible, they do jam, everyone talks about how great they are. Ill admit, the 17, 18, and 19 are the only truly reliable Glocks that will have no problems. The rest, you get what 500$ gives you. Their 9mm guns are the only good ones. And I just hate how they feel, all the parts are cheap, like I said, its the AK of pistols. I like quality in my guns, Sigs, HK, hell even FN makes a better pistol. Glocks are flooding the market because no one is buying them anymore. The only people I saw at the Glock sections of tables actually looking were kids admiring the Glocks for the wrong reasons. I am willing to put my HK USP Tactical and bury it in sand next to any Glock 45. And I will bet the Glock jams first. My point is, Glocks are over rated. Except the 9mm.

Also nice Saiga, not the one I saw though. Actually I think the flash hider was the same, but he had added something to it to make it more violent. It was basically about six or eight rods with spikes on the end attached some how to the flash hider or the barrel. Pretty much a nasty bayonet of some sorts. And it had a drum on it.

Found it on his website, Thanks alot 12131. Its the Chaos PorkyPine. Plus your flash hider. Whats the recoil like on your Saiga compared to say a Mossberg 500? I have yet to have the pleasure of getting personal with a Saiga.

poor selection of old guns, pretty much everyone trying to sell second hand stuff

So which was it? Poor selection or everyone selling it?? Neither! There was a good selection of both.

I remember seeing a lot of tables full of brand new stuff. AJC was on the first row with 15+ tables of new in the box guns. Bachman Pawn from Dallas was there with tables of new pistols, along with half dozen vendors that had over 6 tables of new guns, and dozens of others that had less, but still had new stuff in boxes.

I was there both days, so I don't think much got by me.

That pronged flash hider is more of a joke than anything, but they do get a lot of attention at that table.

demonsmokr: ...hell even FN makes a better pistol.

"even FN"? :scrutiny:
You make it sound like FN is a third rate manufacturer to the fourth rate Glock. FN has one of the best, if not THE BEST reputations in the firearms industry. And that reputation extends from the days of John Browning to today. FN makes the majority of small arms used by the US military.

Agreed. FN makes exceptional firearms. People may not be aware of that.
