Aw dang it. Ya had to go and start that "same powder" stuff again. Now we'll be back to A1 sauce, peas and taters, and I'll be raiding the fridge at midnight again.:banghead:

Is W231 unavailable for some reason?

For some reason, it's been hard to find.

I recommend W231/HP38 to all the shooters I teach to reload as it is flexible for most pistol calibers with mild/medium recoil and meters very well.

Lately, even HP38 has been hard to find too (Probably word got out about W231 and HP38 being the same powder).

I recently tested Green Dot and will be recommending it if they can't find either W231 or HP38. It is a bit faster burning powder, but meters well and load charges are comparable to W231/HP38 with similar recoil.

Well, thanks for the heads up. I have one pound left. Guess I'll order some HP38 if I make another order anytime soon. The one pound should last me at least half a year. A friend bought several pounds of AA#2 when he couldn't find W231, but it seems to be a bit faster.

Well, the 8 lbs are sold out but they still have 1 lb bottles. If you were looking for W231/HP38, hope you got some.

The one pound should last me at least half a year.
One pound of W231/HP38 lasts me about a month.

Hopefully like Winchester primers, maybe we'll see more W231/HP38 on the shelves in the near future.

FYI--when I last checked the Hodgdon reloading site, I think I found a decreasing number of 231 recipes. It may be they are phasing the brand name out (slowly, so as not to raise the ire of us 231 afficiandos).

Bass pro seems to have HP38. I picked up a pound of it there recently and they had big jugs of it on the shelf. I did not think anything of it.
