What sort of accuracy should I expect from a YUGO M24/47 8MM (they are selling them at classic arms.

Thanks

Obviously it will vary by barrel condition, but most of the Yugo models are in good shape, and do make good shooters.
All 8mm surplus ammo need to be treated as corrosive, and you need to flush the bore and bolt face with hot water soon after firing, to prevent rusting, along with a standard cleaning regimen.
There are several commercial 8mm loads that are not corrosive, and provide good potent ammo for target or hunting.
Prvi-Partizan and S&B ammo have good reloadable brass if you are so inclined.

I've had several surplus mausers including an m24/47 and with surplus ammo it shot about 9" high and about 3-4 MOA. But with hand loads I had it shooting at about 1.5 moa with the iron sights.

i used Prvi Partizan 196 gr SP on mine and got pretty good grps at 100 yds. If you can find them, they are a good choice compared to weaker commercial ones like Remington and WInchester brands.

Most Yugo 8mm Mauser actions should be able to hold a 3" group at 100yds. Barrel condition well play a role in that as well the shooter and his ability to use the military sights.

With surplus ammo, I'm getting 5" 100yd. groups with my 24/47. Close enough.
