Hi, Folks!

I had the opportunity to shoot Smith & Wesson's Hand Canon this weekend and it was such a great experience that I am looking into buying a 4" barreled model.

I was wondering if anyone knows where to start with reloading supplies (I can figure out brass & primers)? Does anyone cast their own .500 bullets? Where do you buy them in bulk?

Thanks!

I'd start here.

Well, actually, I'd start with jacketed bullets, until you learn how to reload.

The .500 brings with it certain traits that are a little different then normal calibers.
Thicker case necks & lead bullets will require more experiance and knowledge of belling and crimping then most other calibers for one thing.

Jacketed would probably be the easier path to learn reloading with.

@rcmodel,

I am not new to reloading, only to the .500. Thank you for the link!

I buy my hard cast lead gas check bullets from Montana Bullet Works. They don't lead at all even at 2100+fps out of my 500 Handi-Rifle.
Look on gunbroker for once-fired brass and any other 500 reloading supplies.
