I use a Mika with mine, and can't think of a better one. It does everything required of a pocket holster, i.e., positions and protects the gun, easy to draw from without requiring awkward movements and positively stays in the pocket. Not much to look at, but 100% functional. http://frontiernet.net/~akim

Don't have a PM9, but for pocket holsters for small autos, I've had very good luck with Don Hume (http://www.donhume.com/) and Simply Rugged (http://www.simplyrugged.com/).

I use the Mika pocket holster for my PM-9.

My PM9 rides in a DeSantis Gunhide

When wearing cargo shorts it does a good job.

If not in cargo shorts it rides on the belt

I can't extract a gun out of a front pocket in 3 minutes

I usually don't pocket carry my PM9, but when I do, it is in a DeSantis pocket holster. It is usually OWB in a High Noon Slide Guard.

Personally, I find the best way to carry a pocket pistol is in a wallet holster. Have a serious look at this:

You will not be disappointed.

I carry a P32 in a Desantis Superfly. It has a blocking panel that you can use or leave out. Sticks in the pocket real good. Check it out, pretty inexpensive too.

I just traded for a PM9. It came with a DeSantis Nemesis.

I haven't shot or carried the gun as of yet, but pocket carry isn't my first (or second) choice method of carry.

I currently carry in a DeSantis Nemesis. I did have a DeSantis Superfly that I liked much better.

The Mika's are generally considered to be the best available but I have never owned one, I will one day.

Hard to beat a Mika, but the DeSantis is good too.

Bob Mika is a member here (cheeseinwisconsin, IIRC). His postings are unfortunately infrequent, but this is probably because he is too busy keeping up with the orders. :D

One problem I see with some leather pocket holsters is that the makers seem to think the gun must fit tightly in it. This too often results in the gun coming out of your pocket with the holster still on it. This is not a belt holster that needs a tight fit for retention; your pocket does that. Other designs require special techniques, some of which require awkward/unnatural motions, to snag the holster on the pocket and pull it off the gun. Mika's design has none of these problems.

I've always used a Galco Front Pocket Horsehide holster and been really happy with it. I have to admit I was surprised with no other posts for one of Galco's pocket holsters, but with everyone talking up the Desantis and Mika, I'll have to give them a look.

I have tried a bunch of pocket holsters for the PM9.

I have come to prefer the simple and cheap. (I feel just the opposite for belt-holsters).

My remarks refer to front-pocket carry. I can't comment on rear-pocket carry.

The well crafted, finely formed leather ones are nice. But these require "top hooks" or side wings (or both) that are designed to snag on the pocket when drawing. So the holster comes up with the gun until it breaks away (like a launch rocket) when the pistol nears the top of the pocket. They are also rigid and tend to print more than fabric holsters. They are more expensive. The DM Bullard is a nice one, as is the RGrizzle and the RKBA. In kydex, the Aholster is well molded to the gun and also to the contours of the leg. Look for leather holsters that appear better shaped to the contour of the leg. These kinds of holsters probably do better for tighter fitting pants, such as jeans. Any pocket holster does well enough in looser fitting pants such as cargos or slacks or in jackets.

The simple ones like the Mika, the Desantis and the High Noon are thicker and rely on a loose fit and grippy material sewn on the outside to separate themselves from the pistol when drawing. This separation usually occurs right away at the bottom of the pocket. Since they are of soft fabric rather than hard leather, they print less and mold to the leg easier. Since "retention" is not an issue with pocket carry, a tight fit is neither necessary nor especially desirable. One hand re-holstering and a rigid top opening is not much of a concern either.

You need to decide if you want your sights protected or not (by leather or fabric), as some models do and some don't.
