Hmmm.
Let me know what you think. I have bought a 100 pack on sale of these projis. I am trying to work up a load with re 19 as per what's posted on the Barnes site. The max of 50gr listed would be a pretty darn tight load in my Remington cases - at what point are loads considered "compressed"?

I had a surprise when I filled a set of five cases with 48gr of re19. I shook some of the cases to see if there was any loose room I could hear the powder moving within. I could hear a rattle, but it wasn't the powder. Eventually, I realised the cores in some of the projectiles are a little loose! :uhoh: There are many in the pack like this. Is this "normal"?

Be careful, it's the grenade.:)

You do want to be careful not to change the properties of the extruded powder by compressing it too much, but long drop tubes help and it is generally no big deal to feel a piece or two of extruded powder break when seating the bullet with compressed loads. Just work up the load slowly and watch for pressure signs.

Cheers Cougar,
I'll keep working up the load then!
Was worried about accuracy with the loose cores but prob I guess they would slam to the rear on firing and stay put 'till they met Mr Rabbit (here in oz pretty much our only small vermin. We have lots of little marsupials but they are all rare and endangered because of these and other introduced ferals).
