I feel myself gett'n the hots for a 10mm semi-auto pistol of the 1911 kind. Somebody tell me why I shouldn't do such a silly thing!!

10mm is not legal in some states and they must have a good reason... "right?"
but my next gun purchase was made today matter a fact. i bought a remington 700 sps in 30-06 with a scope and slip i got the gun and scope new at a local outdoor store in achorage for a little under $400 so i am really happy i have already robed the bi-pod off my m4 and placed on my new "lil" hunting rifle.

You know ... Usually I'd answer that one with a flurry of models and the like, but I can't right now.

As is my next project is not a new gun. I am saving up for reloading equipment or in lieu of that a .22 conversion for my Glock 26.

It's kind of odd, to be honest to not jones after a new gun for once. :what:

Nushif, are you okay? :)

Just kidding, I think reloading equipment is pretty equal to purchasing a gun. Someday I'll get into reloading, but it's looking like retirement will be the only extra allotment of time to give it a go.

well, I don't know which one

but I do know how it will happen

it will be the one under glass that whispers sweet nothings in my ear
and I walk around the shop, pretending to not notice the voices
and walk on back, and pick it up, and try to look disinterested about it
and put it back
and walk on out of the shop
and get in my truck and drive around the block
and come back
and get out of my truck, and walk back in

game over

Since I just got a part time job (I'm still in college) again, woo-hoo :), I can ponder about my next purchase. Needless to say, I have been pondering quite a bit lately, and think that adding a revolver to my setup would be a good choice.

That said, I would like to get a blued, Ruger GP-100 .357 magnum, in either a 4 or 6 inch variety.

I have too many calibers right now. Inventory is harder and harder to keep track of and keep up with. Reloading is much easier when reloading ten calibers for 40 guns than reloading 40 calibers for 40 guns. So..... if I buy another gun, it'll be in a caliber that I already have.

I'm partial to a Cooper in 6.5x284.

I have two different categories of gun wants ...

If you're talking about fairly well-known easy-to-get firearms ... I'd REALLY like to get my hands on a S&W500

However, on the slightly off kilter wants I'd love to get a hold of:

1. A Full-Sized IWI Jericho 941 in .45ACP

and / or

2. An AMT Hardballer .45 Longslide (With that 7" barrel ... YUMMY!:p)

But it is such a friggin hassle in :barf:NJ:barf: to get a handgun because it's a ******-Bag state where you need to jump through hoops to get a permit. Before you say it ... I KNOW I should move ... No money though:banghead: ... if you can finance my move ... or a new gun for me please let me know! :) :D

Closest thing to "next" is to finish out "My Ultimate AR Build." That's $3,000 and about a year away, though. :(

Since I already have the lower, though, I'm thinking my actual Next Gun will be something a bit easier to conceal than the Sig P6 I've been carrying for the past two years; either a 642, or small-n-skinny 9mm.

Hopefully, I'm not "gonna buy" any guns at ALL!

I have several that serve me well and which pretty much cover all the basis with respect to anything I need to shoot, including a good defense weapon or two (or three).

Instead of guns, I would rather buy more components to stock up on my various rifle & pistole cartridges.

Either a .22 bolt-action of some sort (perhaps a Savage Mk2, going by price alone, but it does look nice) or a Kadet kit for my CZ.

EITHER:

Sig P220 Elite, with rail and beavertail,

OR

Remington 870 or Mossberg 590 pump shotgun,

OR

AR-15 budget build of some type,

OR

RIA/American Classic/Firestorm/Citadel/whatever budget GI-pattern 1911 .45ACP pistol

What's likely is none of these, in the near term. Too much other stuff going on that all costs money.

anything that comes along at the right price that interests me.:) I don't have any great wants or needs right now but I have several things that interest me. So, when a good deal on something comes along, I buy it. I am thinking of getting some sort of AK right now, with the ammo being so cheap. I like the price of the EAA Zastava PAP and one of the local dealers has a few in stock at a great price, so that might be the one.

Hmmmm gonna be a while before I can buy a new gun.

Just bought a Ruger SP101 last week & a turret press so I'm kinda broke for a month or three.

But if I HAD to guess, maybe another AR.
I went to the range with my nephew last week & he just loved my A1. So I ended up standing around & reloading mags. I told him I was gonna have to buy another just so I could shoot.

After that who knows.... I have been interested in a 357 revolver, a Kel-tec P3AT, I kinda have the itch for a nice short barreled 870 with wood furniture, I'm always interested in a nice Mosin, and I would pick up another AK or SKS for the right price. No idea. I've done quite a bit of horse trading in the last few months, and got rid of more guns that I added. I'm simplifying a bit now that I've gotten into reloading, and I replaced a couple of guns with similar models in cartridges I'm standardizing on. So I'm not really "in the hunt" for anything. Next purchases will probably either add to my reloading gear, or maybe scratch my itch for a suppressor.

All that said, if I tripped over a good deal on a 3" S&W 696, or even a Taurus 431, I might decide to go for it ...

My newest gun.

Its an old model Three Screw BlackHawk Convertable. 38/357 and a second cylinder for 9mm. They stopped making them in 1973, mine was made in 1970 (Ruger has the dates on their site)

It does not have the transfer bar so it not safe to carry six rounds, only five. ruger will change it for free but i am going to keep it this way.

For those who do not know,

From 1962 through 1972, Ruger made the "Three Screw" Blackhawk in various calibers, so called by the number of screws visible on the side of the revolver.

The Flattop and Three Screw Rugers were modernized compared to the Colt Single Action Army, in that they had adustable sights instead of the Colt's fixed sights, and they used wire coil springs instead of the Colt's flat leaf springs. Bill Ruger chose coil springs due to their greater durability, claiming that it solved one of the primary weaknesses of the Colt design.

The early models of the Blackhawk still operated the same way as the Colt, in that the hammer was half-cocked to load and unload, and that the firearm was not safe to carry with all six chambers loaded due to the hammer resting upon the sixth chamber. In 1973, in order to eliminate accidents occurring from the hammer jarring against a round loaded in the sixth chamber, Ruger introduced the New Model Blackhawk. The New Model Blackhawk did not require the hammer to be half-cocked for loading and unloading, and employed a transfer bar mechanism which prevented the cartridge under the hammer from being fired without the trigger being pulled. The New Blackhawk was seen as limiting firearms accidents and legal liability. Ruger then began offering a retrofit program, offering free transfer bar conversions to earlier variants of the Blackhawk.

The owner died a couple years ago and his son is slowly selling a huge collection.

Mine is a 6 1/2 inch barrel but here is a photo

The next gun I buy will be one of the two guns I plan to buy next lol. Either a J-frame or a K-frame S&W in 22lr. Not too picky about which models - whatever I can find a good price on first, I guess. Except, I'm not fond of the 317, but that's based on a sample of one, so maybe I need to keep an open mind.

Well, a few possibilities.

I got that CZ 550 in .22-250 and the FNP40 I talked about earlier in the thread.

FNP is too expensive to make a console gun in my car, so I now want a Glock 19, or perhaps a SIGMA or Ruger SR9/SR9c to use as a console gun.

I also want a CZ 550 6.5x55 for next deer season. Problem is I may be losing out on my only current rifle hunting spot.

Got a new scope for my .22 Magnum the other day (one farm I hunt groundhogs on does not allow center fires). Problem is, my .22 magnum is a Mossberg 640k Chuckster....the dovetails are too close together and too far forward. It was drilled and tapped for weaver bases years ago...apparently scopes have shrunk since then, because the bases are too far apart for the scope I got for it. So now I either get more holes drilled (would rather not), try to find a scope with a longer tube, try to find some offset rings, or buy a new .22 magnum and slap the old under powered scope back on the Chuckster.

Maybe a Mosin m44 carbine or a 308 bolt action rifle if I find one that I like I dislike modern wooden stocks for bolt action rifles, I do not know why I love the old style stocks. After that it will be a 44magnum of some kind or 44 special, maybe a 357 any of those revolvers with a 4 or 3 inch barrel. The revolver will be next May some time as I will be leaving for basic in January and then Medical Admin tech school for another two months.

Henry AR-7. Not high powered punch-a-hole-in-cars rifle, but damn it looks fun.

Or another SU16c, but I don't think those will be easily available for a long ass time.

I think my next is going to be a Benelli M4. I've been bouncing around which semi auto shotgun I want to get and the M4 feels the best in my hands.

I guess my Saiga conversion will have to wait a little be longer.

Well, I just purchased it and love it. So now my next purchase is a full-sized 1911 for at or around $850. Been looking at the SA Loaded and Kimber Custom II. I like the looks of the new Ruger but have not been able to find one.

I feel myself gett'n the hots for a 10mm semi-auto pistol of the 1911 kind. Somebody tell me why I shouldn't do such a silly thing!!
Why would anyone dare throw a negative comment out when it comes to buying a gun! First...it's a 1911. Great choice. 10 mm??? Eehh! BUT...it's a caliber..therefore..you should have one!

I was looking at the same pistol! That little thing is NICE! Does it shoot as straight and accurately as the dealer states? No fudging now..seriously! Is it really a shooter?

What I think I really want is a Savage model 12 Palma!! I finally saw one in person at the range..and that thing is beautiful. It's a guy down there that must make a ton of money and he buys one gun per month. They are never crappy or cheap firearms. This was the least expensive one he has bought. It was $1450 plus 900 plus for the VX-3 scope. He is not really a great shooter. Shaky hands by his own admission. He put 5 rounds down the range. 4 of them were within 1/2 inch. The other was 1/2 inch away. He called that his flyer! He let me take a whack at it and I duplicated his group 1 inch away. The felt recoil on this .308 is minimal. It was amazing just how light the recoil was. The trigger is VERY light and breaks clean and crisp! THAT is the next rifle I would like to buy! :D

The P238 is very sweet. Fits in the hand nice and my first range time put 250 down range with no issues other than running out of time to keep going. I got the SAS model which goes through a "de-horning" process in the CS. I love this little gun. I think my wife is going to get one next as she too had a blast with it.

CZ SP 01 Phantom. I went into the store to order one yesterday. Somehow I didn't get it done. All I accomplished was trading away my used XD .40 (that I've had for less than a month) for a used Glock 21. I wanted another .45acp besides the old Kimber. I don't really feel good about the trade but it's too late now. I'll get the CZ in Aug. or Sept.

It really depends. With five kids, I have to keep getting them new stuff as they grow. My 13yo is bigger than me, so I've been getting him a nice starter set built up. He has an 870 12gauge and a model 700 in 243. If the next gun is for him, it will either be a used XD9 or a K/L frame S&W in 38/357.

However, if I get to take the 1911 transition course at work soon, mama said she'd buy me a new one for work since it would be a justifiable expense. I'm eyeballing a Les Baer Premier or an Ed Brown Special Forces. Good thing I got with a gal that makes way more than I do.

I checked the LGS this morning, bad mistake. He had one Ruger LC9 and for some reason I can't explain I bought it. I went against everything I believed. This "plastic", mag safety, internal lock, loaded chamber indicator all things I have avoided. If it don't work for me, into the safe for my grandson along with a few others I thought I would like. It did fit in my pocket the up side.

Mine has got to be the new Ruger SR1911. Out of my 45+ guns, I have only 2 slide pistols. Both .45 in a 70 series Colt and an 80 series Combat Commander. Just something about that Ruger. I am seeing prices had at $550 on the forums. Would put that down in a heartbeat. I figured around $600 and am good with that. Imma gonna have one.

After 40 years, I got tired of waiting and moved. Never looked back, either! :p

I've always got at least a half-dozen guns in mind for purchase "some time soon". Right now a new pocket pistol (most useful) or an AR (most sexy) are probably at the top of my list, and one other the other will probably be coming home some time soon.

Right now I'm still waiting for my :cuss: tax return to clear, so I can just buy something!!!

I don't know which route to take, I own a M1A Scout but I want the SOCOM. At the moment I have the money for the SOCOM but I also want a marlin 1984, a Ruger single action 45lc, & another lever in 44mag. I can either get the SOCOM now or all others? Opinions please.
