Is that when you do a google search for a "range report", "accuracy" or "groupings" + the name of any well known pistol (glock, S & W, SIG, etc,) over half of the results are for airsoft guns. Bleeding shame. Sorry mods if this is improper posting.

I see nothing sad about it. So, the other half is about the real things. More than enough to read, don't you think?

I bought an air-soft gun a few years ago. I would like to have seen or read an accuracy report before I did so. If I wasn't standing closer than 5 feet, it was 80% likely that I wouldn't hit my target. After 15 feet or so, an egg or light bulb would be safe. No matter how many 5k bottles of rounds I "fired" at them.

While I don't think it's "sad" in any way, occasionally it's humorous when I can barely discern from the conversation whether they're talking about an Airsoft gun as opposed to the real thing. And on YouTube and some other places, I've even seen some owners of Airsoft guns express shock that people can actually own and shoot the real things (I'm talking about Americans, too). If that weren't bad enough, I know a couple of people (friends of a friend) who are even appalled at the very idea of owning a firearm (they sometimes eye me with suspicion like I'm some kind of nut), but they adore their Airsoft guns. Now, I have nothing against Airsoft--I own a few and enjoy shooting them, too--but I think it's kind of weird to be anti-gun yet so obsessed over toy replicas of guns. :scrutiny:

I'm no airsoft hater either, I've enjoyed playing a few times, but I know several guys who literally have arsenals or airsoft gear, shotguns, ARs, G36s, MP5s, and bukus of pistols, and yet can't get a real SIG or real AK-47 cause it's too expensive lol.

I guess what I mean by sad is that internet data on airsoft lookalikes is seemingly more prevalent than useful data on the real thing.
