Picked up this Romanian WASR-2 AK-74 in 5.45x39 earlier this week. After I bought it, I grabbed a Bulgarian mag off the shelf and it wouldn't fit. Apparently these take special mags and I can't seem to find any 30 rounders. Century has the 5rd and 10rd mags but nothing larger. Anybody know where I can find them or what else will fit?

Thanks
Adam

CSS has lots of bulgarian ak-74 mags in stock. Here is the link http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-MAGAZINES-dsh-DRUMS-cln-AK74-5.45x39/Categories

http://www.copesdistributing.net/ had been running a special on Bulgy ak-74 mags...$7.99, but it looks like that are out for now. They are WONDERFUL to deal with. It is worth a call to find out when they anticipate getting more in.

That would be a great deal if the Bulgarian mags actually fit

Is a WASR-2 a single stack AK?

From what I could find they were originally a single stack, but were milled out and converted to a double stack.

Forgot to mention, I'm in NY. The mag needs to be pre-ban

You might have a tight magwell..if they "almost" fit then a little dremiling on the magwell will fix it right up! Don't fear the dremel!

Hunterdad, the mags I suggested are pre-ban. Between some judicious sanding of the mag and magwell, they should fit.

Thanks wnycollector. I'll just order one and see what needs to be done for it to fit.

Check aimsurplus.com. 4 or more, they're $9.95 each. Bulgarian and Russian.
