With the idea of perhaps purchasing, I've been checking costs of Springfield XD .40 sc pistols and find thier costs ranging from $425.00-$550.00 new! What in you gentlemen's eyes are the generally considered fair price of said weapons?

I got a XDsc 9mm on gunbroker for 399+ship+FFL which I thought was a rather good deal. I've never seen them brand new for lower.

I bought a slightly used XD40SC with gear last month for $425.00 + tax. He had a new one identical for $485.00 + tax. I couldn't justify the extra $60 for new when I could get ammo with the extra $$.
Since you don't specify your location, it's difficult to compare apples with apples.

Used: $399 (without night sights)
New: $429-$469
I would shop around. I found a sale and picked up an XD .45 Compact for $429 new. I would imagine with the introduction of the XDM models that the prices of older (used) XDs will be pushed down even more. It's just my opinion, but a used XD never looks as good as a used Glock. I would rather buy an XD new and a Glock used.

New XDSC (9 or 40) in my area $475 (with the not quite ready for prime time gear).
XDSC with factory Trijicons $535
'Course, we're blessed with a dealer that tends to price on the low side (no hagglin').

I've got an XD-9, and it was out the door for $425.00 but that was a year and a half ago. Looking at the XD-M convinced me I don't really want one, even if the mag capacity is higher, I just don't like the style of the gun itself for some reason. Bud's price ain't shabby for my area, even with shipping and transfer fees.

I bought a XD40SC at the Dallas Gun Show last month for $388($420 out the door). Just the gun NIB with 2 mags(1-9 round, 1-12 round) no gear.

I purchased an "Essential" in 9mm sub-compact for $429.00 a couple of weeks ago. (eastern Washington) BTW, I agree on the XDM, I can't see spending the extra $, seems like a waste of money.
