Anyone here have any research or experience on knife laws in PERU. How about self-defense laws?

Good insight as to the drug and political atmosphere.

Back to the OPīs question:

Carrying a knife in Peru is mostly unregulated, as it is here in Costa Rica. However, carrying a knife or even a non-lethal weapon like pepper spray into any sensitive environment (like an airport, government building) is of course not smart.

In Peru all weapon control is handled by the General Directorship of Security, Arms and Explosives Control or DICSCAMEC. Their web site is here (http://www.dicscamec.gob.pe/), and all arms-related laws in Peru can be downloaded here (http://www.dicscamec.gob.pe/Dispo_gen_armas.html). You will need your Spanish. :D

An English summary of firearms laws in Peru can be found here (http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/peru).
