I am considering a .257 Weatherby for wild boar. I need to use lead-free bullets. I note that Barnes suggests their 115 grain TSX be used with 1-9 or faster rifling. The Weatherby rifle is 1-10. I believe the 100 grain TSX should offer adequate penetration for even large hogs but would like to hear from anyone with personal experience. Thanks!

I just tried out some Barnes TSX 100gr .257 bullets in my 25/06. Got the reloading data from Barnes website, loaded 6 sets from minimum to maximum grains.I wasn't impressed at all with their bullets accuracy. Groups averaged between 2-3".
I shoot Sierra 100gr Pro Hunter,Game King, and Match King bullets out of this rifle, and groups are always under an inch. I can usually put 2-3 bullets in the same hole, then get excited and pull the next 2. I need to just shoot 3 shot groups I guess. LOL

A TSX bullet fired from any rifle caliber will work for boar...223 to 458.
