Leather sling cleaning

Bought a Czech VZ-24 at a recent gunshow and it came with the usual accessories, among which was a leather sling. This sling is in very good condition overall, and appears to have been used very little, if at all. However, it's very dirty and stained. What's a good way to clean this thing without causing any deterioration?

I clean my leather goods with a mild detergent. I use dishwashing soap (Dawn Complete to be exact) because it cuts grease and is easy to rinse.

I just put some on a sponge and squeeze it while running water over it, to get the soap into the sponge. Then I wipe the leather good, and then wipe again with a clean damp sponge until any soap feel is gone.

Try saddle soap...then neatsfoot oil. Or the oil for baesball gloves.

I use the leather cleaner & conditioner found in auto parts stores. Meguiars, I think. Works well, leather gets clean and supple.

(KR, good call--it's Meguiar's, not Meguire's. Edited. :) )

I used to use "Lexol". However, I think BamBam is right on the Meguires. (Is that how it's spelled? Doesn't look right.)
