What is the going rate to have a new bolt handle welded on a 98 Mauser bolt? Has anyone had that done lately? I already have the handle from Brownells and need a gunsmith to weld it on. I have one quote of $100 which is a little more than I wanted to spend.

i've done several but right now i'm working out of town so i don't have time to do any of them.
http://www.accu-tig.com/ is about the cheapest at $40 and the usually have a fast turn around.
the bownells handles are cast junk. i prefer a talley handle or a sound metal products square shank handle.

I've not used this guy, but his prices seem reasonable. He does Mosins and Mausers.

a lot of welding shops try to use stainless rod on bolt handles for some strange reason.
