Howdy All,

Im hoping someone will help me put a fair market value on the below knifes I got into for my sheath making endeavor. I do not believe these are the Pakistani ones you see floating around though they are not stamped with a manufacturers ID no ID stamps at all. All are Damascus steel and a couple have file work both on the bottom and top. They are great looking knifes and I think are great candidates for one of my kydex sheaths. Once I get sheaths made for them I will probably post them for sale in the sales forum.

I know there's some great knife makers here who I hope will comment.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

And another picture of what I think are the best 3.

Not to offend, but the sheaths for those should be a natural material instead of kydex if you want to optimize the value.

The two deer-foot shaped handled knives look like any number of pre-ground blanks from various sources. Check out Jantz supply as well as the Asian blade blank sources and you may find them.

Thanks for the response. They each came with inexpensive leather sheaths. I bought the knifes because I thought they were very cool and would look good with a kydex sheath - but I guess that may be personal preference more than anything else.

Any thoughts on their value as pictured ? I was thinkinking about $90-$125 each without the kydex sheaths that will be made for them, but really don't know for sure.

You'd have to test the heat treat to set the value. They might not have been heat treated or they may be perfectly usable. If you're careful you could use a bastard file and see if the edges are hardened or not.

If they're hardened then you should ask $150 each with sheath and come off no more than $25.

Thanks for the info hso. Now it makes sense why the guy selling them mentioned that they had been heat treated without asking. I thought it odd that he would offer up this info without being asked, because frankly I believed that all knifes, as part of the manufacturing process are heat treated.

Shameless plug. I got into these knifes because I started making Kydex sheaths. And needed some knifes to make sheaths for. I just completed a sheath for one of them and have posted it (and knife) for sale in the forums.

Regards,
Rob
