My M&P 45 acp pistol has exceptional rough trigger takeup, very gritty. The trigger is completely smooth with the slide off. I have smoothed the safety disconnect to no avail. I have also detail stripped the assymbly containing the sear. everything looks very smooth, I did polish the round end of the sear where contact is made. Any help is appreciated. Not the pistol that the generation three is.:)

What you are probably feeling is the Firing Pin Block Spring being compressed in the Firing Pin Block as you take up the slack. Try polishing/chamferring the seat in the block where the spring resides and reducing the length of the spring itself.

You are feeling the "squareness" of the firing pin block...you need to polish it round. There are threads explaining how to do this on the m-p pistol forum. These are super-easy guns to do trigger work to. There also may be an aftermarket part available from apex tactical.

Thanks, I had already polished and rounded the f/p block, perhaps not enough. Also polished the complete block. I still agree that this has to be the problem, I've rounded it twice, -- a little at a time. Thanks again.
