Need Help With Mosin Nagant

I have a Chinese T53 that every once in awhile won't extract a spent round. This seems to happen most when the rifle really heats up and I don't pull the bolt back with enough "authority". Any advice?

You need to clean your chamber, as you may have old dried cosmoline still lingering or just some debris. Use a 20ga brush with some kerosene or something to cut the grease, and spin it with a drill. Wipe with a patch to dry. Inspect it after to make sure you don't have any corrosion.

1--Make sure you've taken a brush to the chamber and scraped out any residual dried cosmoline in there.
2--Don't use the ammo that's getting stuck. Sometimes certain rounds esp. the lacquered ones get jammed up in the chamber of certain mosins. There are pretty wide variations between chamber dimensions.
3--If it's happening with many different types of ammo or ESP if it's happening with good quality brass ammo, your extractor may need replacing. It's a very inexpensive part to find.

thanks a lot guys. I did what was advised to get any cosmoline out with the drill. I was using Polish surplus stuff so I'll try out some other ammo and go from there.
