Cheapest way to carry six 1911 mags?

I have been IPSC shooting informally for a while with my S&W 625. I am branching out to use my new Dan Wesson PMDP.
My question is -- what is the best/cheapest way to carry six magazines on my Safariland gunbelt?
I dont need the fastest or the best -- just something serviceable.
Thanks!

Fobus paddle double mag carrier. Work well, 19 bucks or less carries two mags. I carry my 4th and 5th mag in one, but prefer Safariland 771s up front. Lil more pricey though.

I wish I could remember his name (he was an early gun writer/survivalist) but he developed a six-pack 1911 mag carrier. Maybe not very tactical but it was supposed to be secure. The guy I am thinking of died about 20 (?) years ago. Maybe someone else can help me with his name.

I like the Safriland metal mag clips. Very inexpensive and you can use as many or as few as you need.

Photoguy,
I like that idea a lot. Its a lot like the Safariland moonclip holders I use for my 625.
What holds the mag there -- just the tension of the metal clip itself? Are they pretty secure? Looks like I could nap 6 of those for about $50.

Yes, the mag is held by a flat piece of metal folded over on one side and a slighly curved piece on the other. The flat side holds the back of the mag and the curved side on the front. There is some tension that helps hold it snugly. You can also bend the metal a bit to loosen it up if needed. There is also a small shelf of metal to support the bottom.

I'll make B class in L-10 this month with Uncle Mikes Kydex. Cheap and fast enough.

I can get four in a TT frag grenade pouch. That's right at 3 dollars a mag.

Plain ol' military web mag pouches work fine. You can string them out along your belt, front, side, or back. I thought there was some rule about stages which require more than a certain number of rounds per stage, so speed of access after the two "ready mags" should be secondary.
Milt Sparks used to market something he called the "Sparks Six-Pack," which lined up six mags, bullet noses pointing away from the body. Bulky, yes, but quite efficient. Don't recall the price, but it was NOT cheap.

He doesn't show this product on his site, but a phone call might tell if he has any old stock laying around the shop.
Best of luck - -
