Hi all, does anyone have any experience with these (http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=CS80TSB)? The g/f wants to get me something for my b-day and I'm pretty hard on my stuff, so I figure C/S would be a good go-to if I wanted some throwing knives. Please let me know if you've used these and if I should buy or avoid. Thanks.

i don't have that particular model, but i do own one of their other throwers the one with the cord wrapped handle. i've had it for at least 12 years now, and it's not only been thrown endlessly, but i've used it for other stuff i wouldn't use my other knives for, like a prybar, for instance. it's been a tough little performer.

CS gets a lot of flak from the knife community, because of design stealing, bad mouthing other companies, and so on, but their products perform as advertised.

Thanks for the kind of review I was looking for, you sound like me on them. I am also getting the paracord wrapped one for carrying while hunting, so that's good to know. I sent the links in an email to her... she sent me back links to watches...

My dad got one from his dad in the 70's and I got another one off ebay recently (lost it- effin thing must have been sucked into a wormhole, I canvased about a football field worth of space trying to find it)

which paracord wrapped one are you getting for hunting carry? Hopefully not the Spike.

I like the Trueflite, like all so called ''throwers'' it's a bit light, but when hucked with enough force it will stick quite nicely. The para cord handle fit's the hand fairly well, and the edge is usable, and best of all, it's $20.00. If you lose it,there's no need to commit sepuku.

I will be using the Trueflight para-cord wrapped knife while hunting, not for hunting. I only hunt pigs and I'll like the lighter weight knife that's still a good length. It's a last resort kind of thing I'll be using for cutting stuff. She ordered them today, but thank you all for the suggestions.
