I picked up my first handgun today. Proud to say it's a Glock 19. I was in love the first time I touched it. Can't wait to take this bad boy to the range.

Can anyone recomend a good holster for the G19. I am thinking of probably a 4 O'clock carry posistion?

A Glock 19 is a great choice.

For holsters try Sidearmor (http://sidearmor.net/) or Comp-tac (http://www.tcht.net/comp-tac.com/) .

Sidearmor has a sale on some of their holsters now, BTW.

Can I fire +P and or +P+ 9mm in my Gen 2 Glock 19?

Yep - +P or +P+ work fine in the G19. For a holster, try the Alessi Talon Plus IWB. It's my standard carry holster for the G19/23 size weapons, and I've never found a better.

Thanks for the info Preacherman. I checked the manual and Glocks web site and a few other dedicated Glock sites and never found a mention of it. And I most definitly don't want to have a blown up gun with a new nickname "Lefty":D Will check out that holster straight away.

Thats a good thing IMNSHO. I don't want my investment to be a useless pile of scrap metal and plastic. Cost me a Crap load of cash($545 plus tax). Supposably NIB but I highly dought it. Looks new but it's gen 2. I could have done alot better but once I held it I couldn't wait I just had to have it.

Peetmoss,

The Glock is a great choice!

Be prepared for a lot of flack from non-Glockers. If a Glock in Zimbabwe has a failure to feed, you can bet that someone will post it here within the hour.

Yeah, I've done that a few times.
That's why I've been staying away from my local "toy" dealer..:D

He fortunately didn't get any broken bones out of the deal, but he said it was like having his hand hammered on an anvil.

Moral of the story: If you handload, be careful!

I like the G19.
I would carry it in anything from Galco (http://www.usgalco.com) . I hate plastic holsters.
I would shoot a 115+p load out of it.

Dark Side? Glock? Can you even shoot Black Powder out of a Glock? Bet it would be a bad idea with the polygonal rifling at all.

Have had a G19 for about a year now and its my primary CCW. Im a lefty and carry it in a Comp-Tac Undercover IWB and a Gould and Goodrich leather belt holster. Depending of course on the time of year.

As for loads, I shoot Winchester white box 115 gr. from Wally World for target practice and have carried Cor-bon 115 gr +P for personal protection. But since have gone to Federal Hydrashock 124 Gr +P+. Picked up a couple of boxes for pretty cheap. I am interested in the Pro Load 124 +P though. Heard alot of good things from threads on TFL and www.ammolab.com has some good intel on the performance of this ammo.

Try it all out and see what works for you.

I carry a G17 mag as an extra when I CCW just because. 2 extra rounds cant hurt right?

I think the sidearmor roto holster is going to be my choice. I like my guns in plastic and my women in leather :D

Same to you with yours. I shot mine for the first time yesterday and have to say I love it even more.

I think the 29 might be a better suit for me. I choose the 19 in Gen 2 because if fit me very well and suited all my purposes for now. The 19 gen three didn't fit as well. The 17 gen 2 was a little too big. 9mm was the caliber of choice for me because it was cheap to shoot and a basic do all caliber in my opinion. Jack of all trades and master of none.

I bought the same white box Winchester 115gr ammo for target shooting. I also bought some UMC 115gr ammo and some Winchester 147 jhp's. Just to try everything they had at Wallyworld:D

Great choice, the 19 was my first Glock also.

I have since added the 26 and 17.

And now looking for a 17L or 34 to round out the 9mm category.

Or, if your using a Glock, don't use handloads.

That, and it's probably a good idea to only quality factory loaded ammunition in a Glock. :) ;)

For holster, get a Tucker HF2.

How did it feel to get it home? Did you sit in the chair all night holding it? Did it sit by the bed at night? Did you wake glancing over at it? Enjoy!!:D
