I was thinking about removing the magazine disconnect safety from my SR9c. Are there any adverse effects to doing this?

I watched a video about how to do it..haha
The process seems to be just an indepth cleaning and simply not reinstalling a part.

In the June 2010 issue of Combat Handguns, Massad Ayoob discusses the legal ramifications of removing the magazine disconnect safety, should you ever need to defend yourself with that gun, you may end up in court having to defend yourself because of it's removal. Mag disconnects, to some degree, reduce the number of accidental discharges as well. I don't necessarily believe in having one in the gun but if it's not causing operating problems, why mess with it.

Because I'd like to be able to fire it without the magazine in it if I were in a tight spot without damaging my firearm. Plus it limits the likely hood of breaking it.
