i have one on order. i noticed that it has a pocket clip. i plan on carrying this in a kydex sheath. does anyone here have one, and do they know if the pocket clip is removable? if so, will it affect the spring latch?

I don't have one, but:
It would certainly appear the clip can be removed.

Click on the picture for a close-up view.

Note the clip is attached with two small Torx screws on the off side of the handle.
They go into blind nuts on the other side that go through the clip.

SO you should be able to remove the Torx screws, take the nuts out of the clip, and put them & the screws back in the handle.
It would have no effect on the latch as long as you put the screws back in.

to remove clips or tighten up screws, you may need one of their torx bit kits

CountyComm sells the T-Tool (http://www.countycomm.com/TORX.htm), specifically made for knife maintenance.

Looks like this:

Dreadfully expensive. A whopping $7.95 plus whatever the shipping is.

Careful, though (http://www.countycomm.com/kubo.htm). The CountyComm site can cause (http://www.countycomm.com/PEN.htm) collateral wallet impact (http://www.countycomm.com/LadybugSaltH1.htm).

You just (http://www.countycomm.com/1x4driver.htm) never know (http://www.countycomm.com/AAAcopper.html) when you're (http://www.countycomm.com/StainlessPen.htm) gonna find (http://www.countycomm.com/aaapolish.html) random stuff (http://www.countycomm.com/bladetech.htm) you can't live without (http://www.countycomm.com/AAWORLDSMALLEST.html).

i don't have the 51, i had a 42 and now use a Kimura. however, i was seriously considering a 51 and (as a result) have watched/read a handful of reviews. from what i've gathered - not only is the clip removable (without any effect on the spring latch), but also can be switched from side to side on that handle. it can NOT be moved to the other handle. i could be mistaken, but that's what i recall learning, while trying to decide whether or not to get one. also - everyone says that it is lighter than the model 42 which was pretty light already.
