Trail Boss Again

I needed to fire-form some new brass for my .30-.338. Rather than pound my repaired shoulder back to the orthopedist, I decided to try forming with TB and light bullets. The results were spectacular. The experiment is over, I'm now a believer in miracles. I was able to form 60 cases with perfect shoulders, with nary a peep from the right shoulder.

:D

I shoulda' used it to fire form the .357 Herrett cases too. Right thumb is a bit sore. Great experiment nonetheless.

And I thought I was the smart guy around here....
I used TrailBoss to fireform some new .357 Mag Starline cases I bought not too long ago for my trusty 586.
Easy on the pocketbook, easy to clean, and got my cases ready for the 'serious' 4227 and H110 loads.
Trail Boss forever! I wish they made bumper stickers.

30-.338 is that like a 338 RUM necked down to a .30?

sonier: Correct. It's a slightly more efficient .300 Magnum. Same velocities with less powder and standard length action. I had a Ruger No. 1 rechambered from 30-06 20 years ago for an Alaska moose hunt. It was my backup for the .375 H&H that I also took. Great cartridge, but a little stiff in the recoil department in a light rifle.
