This sems to be the only cheap 2 3/4" load that throws a 3/4 oz projectile (Rem loads are 5/8oz for sluggers an 1/2oz for the HV) accurate through a friend's Ithaca. Brenneke slugs pattern through his old deer slayer typically low at 25yds. Any eperiences in the field with this load anyone?

I've got a box of them but never have taken the time to fire any of them. Some guns like different rounds always best to try out a few different brands as far as effectiveness I see no reason they couldn't drop a deer just as well as any other slug.

I've used them for years in an old 20g Ithaca M37 deerslayer. They perform as expected and the 20g deerslayer is more accurate than most smoothbore slug guns. On a full sized Illinois whitetail the slug often stops at the hide on the far side instead of passing all the way thru but we haven't lost one yet.

My buddy and I are tying to decide betewen these and Federal's offerings. The Ithaca he has doesn't like brennekes, and Fderal is the only other brand that makes a 3/4oz slug. Since we hunt in an area withboar and bear, we're looking for the best penetrating slug in 20ga. I agree that they kick, but less than 12ga.

The Winchester load you mention is what I shot my first deer with. It blew through him like he wasn't even there. He ran downhill maybe 40 yards.

Accurate. Deadly.

They work.

The 5/8 oz Remington slugs will kill deer, boars, and bears just as dead.Yoy realy should try a few thru your guns .Some shotguns prefer 1 brand of slug over all the others. You should also consider the accuracy of the slug you use,not just the weight.
