Aimpoint 3 and 4 series differences

What is the difference between the 3 and 4 series of Aimpoint red dot sights? I looked on Aimpoint's site and could not find anything of use. The only difference that I could tell was the the 4 series takes AA batteries whereas the 3 series takes lithium batteries. Also, there is a different number of brightness settings for the dot. Aside from this, what are the differences? Is one series better than the other? Thanks.
