Last winter I decided to try Remington Core Lokt in 150g for my .308. The only ones that I could find were labeled for 30-30. I have had an on going problem with accuracy. I know think that the bullet diameter is slightly smaller than what I shoud be using. I believe 30-30 is .305 and .308 is actually .308. Am I barking up the right tree or am I wrong?

They are both .308 the problem may be the bullet shape. You didn't say what gun You're shooting them ouy of but ,the 30-30 often is a Lever gun with a tube Mag. so the bullets are "flat Points" to prevent Primer impact firing. So, You may need a pointed bullet in You're .308. S.R.

As SR noted, the .30-30 and .308 both use .308 diameter bullets. There's no intrinisc reason that a .308 WCF wouldn't shoot a flat point accurately, so the gun just may not like the particular bullet you're using.
One thing you should be aware of if you are planning to hunt with this load is that bullets designed for the .30-30 are more lightly constructed than those intended for .308s, .30-06s, etc., because of the .30-30's lower velocity. So, you can drive that Remington .30-30 bullet to 2700 fps in your .308, but if you whack a deer with it don't be surprised when it expands too much too soon.

as the other responders have mentioned, there are reasons the bullets won't group in your rifle.
Since they are bullets designed for .30-30, you might try loading them down to .30-30 velocities and see if the accuracy improves.
The truth is not all bullets work in all rifles.
Bottom line, try some other bullets.

Midway USA often has .30 caliber hunting bullets on sale.
I bought 500 Remington 150 grain Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point bullets from them years ago and am still loading them. They work well in my .30-06s and my M1A in .308.
