Need a lot more information. What are the markings on the barrel? What are the markings on the frame? What is the serial number? What is the barrel length? How much engraving is on the frame, barrel, grip and cylinder? What kind of grips does it have? Are the grips serial numbered to the gun? How much of the finish is left on the gun? Is the frame blued or color case hardened? Do you mean that the cylinder nickel plated? When you say box, do you mean a presentation case? If so, describe. When you say 45, do you mean 45 Colt or 45 ACP? Do you have the ability to post pictures? The value range on SAA's can go from 500 to 25,000 or more.

I agree with "BAD" that we need more info, but let me take a guess.
It could be the Peacemaker Centennial, which came out in 1975 in three calibers, and was shipped that way, with nickel plated cartridges. If so, there were 1500 made in each caliber, and the value, new in the box, is around $1700-2000, depending on area and how bad someone wants it.

Sorry about the lack of info. But you got it right Jim. Great to be apart of the gun world that knows something about guns.
