OK. I admit it. I'm a diehard 1911 fan. This summer, however, I have attempted to 'fall in love with' a Glock G36....to no avail. So....I'm looking at acquiring an SA 'LtWt. G. I. Champion for future CCW use. Anyone currently/formerly carry one? Any insight is appreciated.

I have been seeing this model around alot locally. I have also been interested, as for me the Govt. model is far too heavy to carry.

I carried a Ltwght Champion Operator for a while and currently carry a SS Loaded Champion or a NHC Predator II. My Champion's were/are solid and reliable, I would not use a G.I. model unless I sent it in the change the sights or put laser grips on it. There is a better than average chance that it will need a trigger job as well, most Springfield production guns ive owned/shot/handled have poor triggers out-of-the-box. When you tear into one you will see why. Below is a link to the thread I started about my Loaded Champ and everything I had to do to it. My Lghwt Operator had a very nice trigger out of the box and did not need any of this.
