would appreciate your help

TLR-2 going on my SBR

Looks like a picatinny mount on the bayonet lug is my only option here, but the sling mount would be in the way of the controls.

I know there must be multiple solutions available, but what do you recommend, relocate the sling mount?

(note: there is no sight tower)

Thanks for your help.

I use a KNS pivot pin sling mount; it moves the sling back to the receiver.

It depends on how you use your sling.

I like my light to be located at 2 o'clock so it doesn't shine directly into any barricade I might be using for cover/concealment. The light clears the barricade regardless if I "roll out" right or left.

Good luck with your choice!

Don't know if this (http://www.botachtactical.com/kzm4balugmo.html) will help or not-I use a side sling mount and folded my unused bottom sling mount under the barrel. This particular model has a notch instead of solid as the one you pictured.
If you're stuck with a lower sling mount, guess it would still have the same control problem?

Mine has standard handguards, too, and I use a CAA rail segment that attaches to the side of the front sight tower at 10:00 and 2:00. I much prefer the light at 10:00 to 6:00, as the barrel shadow is in the worst possible place with a 6:00 placement.

I don't have a front sight tower, BUT I do have a rear ambi Magpul sling mount, so going to a rear single sling mount might solve my problem.

Then the bayonet lug picatinny mount would work (after I removed the front sight ring which is no big deal since I can always reinstall it).

I tried mounting the light on the side of the handguard but that puts it beyond the adjustment range of the laser.

Thanks and I'm open to any other ideas.

You can get AR hand-guard rails cheap for the short or long hand-guard.

They just bolt in the channel in the bottom of the hand-guard. I've been using them for years for the TLR-2.

I'm not sure from the 2 posted photos whether you have rails or not?

If so, you might try an offset flashlight mount like the Daniel Defense version above. Side mount (to either side, but drops light down to left hand thumb when using forward grip or to left-side left high thumb if running weapon without forward grip.

The angle should bring your laser more within adjustment range to POA, but you should be using an offset aimpoint for strike of the laser anyway.

I like the offset Daniel Defense mount. I prefer to operate the light by the tailswitch from the vertical foregrip with my left thumb, rather than a tapeswitch.

I don't have a front sight tower

If you have a rail on top of your handguards and mo FSB, why not just put it on top like Chindo's ?

This.
MI also sells this same thing as well. Rainier and BCM have them in stock.

The other posted options really don't work well for anyone I've trained with. That light can't take up real estate on your allready too small carbine handgaurds.

I'd get the MI or CAA mount that goes on the FSB and mount your light to your rifles support hand side and use your thumb to pushbutton.

You could also mount a small Magpul Moe Plastic rail to the top of your handgaurd and then Use a Larue offset light mount. You'll need the longest offset model to pull it off.

Surefire 6P LED (w/clickie tailcap) in a Vltor Offset mount off of the top rail positioning the light @ 11:00 (if you are a righty). I resisted and tried another setup 1st. I eventually made the switch and have to say it just feels right.
