Hi, new forum mbr here. I have this gun I want to sell at auction if it's worth my time. Here's the details - 1895 Chilean Mauser made by Lowe's in Berlin Germany. It has a sporter stock that is in very nice shape with only the smallest of nicks, but it's not walnut. It's some kind of other wood that has been stained to a deep chocolate brown. It has matching numbers. It has a turn-down bolt handle in WHITE. The safety is also in white, mounted on the side of the bolt in the back. There is plenty of clearance around the scope to work the safety. The barrel is the old 2-stage barrel with a smaller circumference out near the muzzle. There are 3 small screws in the side of the barrel. Bluing is 100 percent. Action is smooth as silk. And of course, being a 7 mm bullet, accuracy is great. Redfield mount. Bore is bright all the way down. Any guesses what it might bring, or keep it to beat rabbits with?

I paid $130 for a Model 93 like that about a year ago. That was probably on high side. Get someone like me who likes them and really wants that one, maybe $150. If it were stock military, maybe twice that.

If I were you, I'd go to samco and buy a bunch of the surplus 7x57 they just got in and keep it.

Welcome to THR, hotajax.

It would be much better if you had some picture(s) to show. Use the advanced posting and you'll be able to add pics to your post.

You can offer it for sale in the Trading Post at the bottom of the home page.

"THERE ARE THREE SMALL SCREWS IN THE SIDE OF THE BARREL..." Ahhhhh. I think pics would explain this one... Do you mean in the side of the action for a side mount scope mount?? Screws in the chamber area or the rifling area of the barrel don't make sense?

Do you mean in the side of the action for a side mount scope mount?? Or on TOP of the barrel for iron sights?
