Local gunshop today and saw a very dirty Bersa .380 for 225 OTD. When I say dirty I mean carbon build up crusted on the feed ramp and hammer. What say you? Risk the buy and take it home and clean it?

For a little bit more, you could get a brand new one.

Bud's has them for $261 (with free shipping) here:

I'd buy it if it's the pre-lock version. Might wheedle on the price a tad. All black? Duo-tone? Thunder .380 or CCW model?

My Thunder .380 was $230 brand-new, a few years ago from a kitchen-table dealer. It's an all-black pre-lock model.

The blow-back action on a Thunder gets them filthy in a hurry. When my wife broke hers in with a couple hundred rds, it looked like a Glock or M&P with a couple thousand rds through it. Probably never been cleaned, but the price is too high. I wouldn't give more than $175 for it, as new ones can be found for as little as $230 +/-
