Thanks for the update. My old G30 has been doing the business for 13 years now.

If SHTF ever comes along, it's the one I'd grab first.

If I had only one gun, it would be my 30. I put a front ns on it twelve years ago and a ghost ring rear, and it's been a terriffic pistol, the rest I could live without, "if I had to".

I love my 30SF. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Amazingly accurate, powerful, reliable, fairly concealable, simple to use, plenty of aftermarket parts, able to shoot higher capacity magazines such as the 13-round Glock 21 mags. Great weapon.

Its called "Glock Grade" paper.
But more likley he is shooting semi wadcutter handloads.

I have to admit i wished the day i bought my XD SC .40 i could have had more time to sit and fondle it and the G30 more so i could have made a more calculated purchase.

About the article i find many of the mods that were done to the gun make it somewhat less CCW friendly. I mean if im buying a SC, Its dumb to add length to the grip.
Extending the controls are only half bad since a holster shouldn't snag on them as it would if you were Plaxico carrying.

When the 4th gen hits the G30/G29 line i know i will be giving them another look.

Do i regret my XD SC .40? In ways yes. Its not a .45acp or 10mm both of which i prefer over the .40 round. But imo the XD is just a Glock clone imo with an added grip safety which i do like alot. Im a 1911 guy at heart.

But i think what turned me away from the G30 was capacity, Its pretty low even for a SC.
But the G29 wasn't in stock that day as i think i would have taken that over the XD.
But ammo prices on 10mm need to be more mainstream to even consider one since i have to practice what i carry.

Now im done rambling about my SC thoughts and history. Id like to say i find making alot of parts changes and mods in a CCW not a smart idea in my experience.
The gun is never as reliable as the day it came off the showroom shelf, At least from what i seen from my last G20 i owned.

This was all hardball ammo used in my review including the reloads, they were berry's. If you are just shooting at paper it will look like just tears with hard ball ammo. If you put card board behind the paper you should get much cleaner holes.

The Glock 30 is a great gun, but semi wadcutters don't work well in the G-30. They feed fine, but the spent cases don't extract well over the shoulder of the next SWC in the magazine.
Many have tried, many have cried.

factors are the thickness of the target paper, type of bullet, and the bullet's velocity.
