Recently I ordered a large stockman pattern from AG Russell with aged amber honey bone scales. Upon inspection of what I thought was going to be another happy addition to the family i noticed that the main blade is ground incorrectly. Its ground so poorly that the last quarter inch is basically flat and pushed the edge all the way in one direction. I expected so much more from a notoriously quality company. Disheartening is all that comes to my mind. :(

If that knife came from AG Russell just call them and let them know it's on the way back. I guarantee you they will make things right by you. Queens has a good name to. Probably a second that slipped through accidentally. Pain in the rear I know, but things like that do happen now and then....PS- AG Russell will tell you how to address the return....

Agreed, call and talk to Goldie and send it back addressed to her.

I have indeed intended to do just that. I ordered a TON of knives from A.G., even in Iraq and they have always delivered good stuff. But as stated, a pain in the rear. Especially since it was my first Queen and I've read so much good stuff about them.

Yes, I have a fixed blade (not large) Queens put away here. I THINK it's #92, not sure, (too lazy to get up and pull the drawer open and look) but I know it's D2 Tool Steel..Only Queens knife I own. Don't ever use it....

Oh nice. Mine is a #49 I think. Do you think they will take it back if my cat spilled a wee bit O coffee on the box??? :o. I just saw on another post about a sight called knivesshipfree.com. I'm weary about ordering from new sites but they carry alot of more traditional quality brands.

Yes, mine is a #92. I just looked...They don't care if the box is messed up. Just box and wrap it good before you send it off. They're not going to charge you one red penny for replacing that knife. If they do it would surely surprise the hell out of me, I can tell you that. Even if you should pay shipping getting it to them they will return your shipping charge as long as you remind them about it..Queens is good steel. You don't have to worry about it. If you take care of it, that Queens will outlive you and I both....PS-Hard to get more traditional than Queens....

Well I called today and talked to an older sounding lady. She dident sound very pleased at all when I described the flaw and even less pleased when I intended to return it. But when she looked up my order records and saw how much business I have done with them she came around a bit in attitude. They (she) said that if I sent it back they would find a model that's ground correctly and send it back, no problemo. I guess that will involve a camera when its all said and done ;)
