Looks like something is cracking in my GSG-5. This going to be an issue?

Circled in red. Make sure to enlarge completely:

Definitely not some stuff that can be wiped off, so it does seem like a crack.

200 rounds of Federal through it...

Looks like a scratch to me. Keep shooting it, if it breaks there is no doubt HK will fix it.

Looks like a machined step to me.

I'm picking up a brand new one on Saturday, I'll see if an unfired one has a similar mark.

Looks like a crack to me. ATI will stand behind it. I'd call. I don't think you'd need to send the gun back, maybe just the part.

Yes, you need to click on the image to see it larger.

I think it is a scratch, toolmark, or dent from the bolt slamming home.

Emailed ATI, they said it should not be an issue.

Shot 150 rounds of Blazer through it today, no issues in terms of shooting.

Scratch/crack does not seem any bigger, so its probably just a scratch.

Only issue I did have was when trying to eject a chambered round (for a cease fire), the round didn't come out. Had to pull it out with my fingers.

Have you found the GSG-5 forum?
Lots of good advice there.
