Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. From what I have read so far, it looks like an exceptional resource for information.
I am in need of assistance in identifying the year of manufacture on four firearms I recently picked up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

1) A Colt Anaconda, 6", .44 mag. The serial is MM37xxx

2) A Colt Trooper MK III, 4" blued, .357 mag. Serial 676xxx

3) A S&W 29-2, .44, 6.5", blued, Serial N414xxx

4) A S&W 15-3, .38 special, 4", blued, Serial K924xxx

Thank you very much!!

Call Colt at 1-800-962-COLT and they will look up the year made for you. But they won't tell you anything else without your paying for a factory letter.

Somebody will come along with the period for your Smiths.

Please verify the S/N for the Trooper MarkIII, everything I've got says that the S/N should either start or end with a letter.

It ends with a "J"

Model 15-3: 1969.
Can't help you on the Anaconda.

wmjsmallwood:
Your Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman was manufactured in the period 1978-1980. as your serial number is low in the N5xxxxx range I would guess at 1978 or early 1979.
In 2006 the Standard Catalog of S&W gave a value of $375 in excellent condition, so allowing for inflation you probably paid the correct price.
