my grandfathers old over and under 12 guage has got some bad pitting on the barrel, the rust had taken down the bluing on several points, it has a vented rib and i was wondering how much it would cost to get it reblued, and does the rib fall off and have to be rewelded? thanks

It would need to be rust blued.
You can't drop most double guns in a hot-blue tank without the whole thing falling apart.

Very likely the vent rib, both barrel side ribs, and muzzle fillers are soft soldered together.
